By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/15/09
we arrived at night to check in which was reserved a week earlier, our room was FREEZING no heat on at all! We stayed 2 nights, they did not clean the room at all after the first night, no clean towels, nothing replaced from thr nite before,no coffee the bed and room left the same, was told sorry, but nothing was done, may be cheap rate but I know why no houscleaning, heat or towels!! Not worth it, pay extra, go somewhere else!!

There's No Way We Would Go Back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/16/07
Outside of the fact that this hotel is old and dated, it was dirty. I rented two rooms; one for our kids, and one for ourselves. There was someone's black hairs in the kid's bed, dirt accumulation in the corners of the bath, and stained and soiled carpeting in both rooms. We slept ON TOP OF THE BEDSPREADS for the night;we felt that the conditions of the rooms did not merit sleeping in the beds! Curtains in the rooms were torn, and soiled. There was no service, and we will steer clear of this place in the future! We had the worst night that we have ever had in all the years we have travelled;please steer clear from this place if you care about cleanliness,or sleep!!

It all depends on what you are looking for - I've stayed there numerous times, but I am not crazy about the place...
By Kimi, 08/01/07
I have been going to Somerset for my husband's family reunion since 1998. My husband has been staying at this hotel with his parents since the middle ages??? His mom & dad used to rent the kitchenette style. We stayed in it once... good deal for the price... but!!.... Well, anyway - I should start by saying we have an 8 yr old & he loves the pool... which is EXTREMELY small, but clean & great for the kids. No guard, usually NO crowd. As far as the hotel goes, the rooms are well sized for the low price. a standard room looks like a bad 1973 movie with a hotel room that the jive turkeys are hiding out in - dig it man? ha! the gold cracking in the mirrors... for 1970 style! LOL. THE BEDS ARE LIKE BOARDS, unbearably firm - not serta perfect, not really hard... EXTREMELY HARD & I like a firm mattress. I was in agony when I woke up, so was my husband & son!!!!!!! you get one pillow per person & try begging for more pillows, towels or blankets! ha! good luck. You get a love seat/coffee table or a recliner/tiny table. The sink is outside of the bathroom and there is a tiny, 2 cup coffee maker from the 1970's as well. The shower head is what you get for a $48 room. Hey, but the water runs clear (not brown) and the toilet was immaculately cleaned. you don't smoke in the room, but you can open the front door and sit on the sidewalk at your door and enjoy the view while you smoke, drink a beer, relax. There is plenty of space in all rooms... and they allow dogs... that is probably the ONLY reason that we continue to stay in this hotel each year. This hotel is literally FEET from the Somerset Turnpike exchange along with 3 others. There are a billion restaurants within 1 mile... but there is NO WAY to walk to them unless you want to dodge a 6 lane turnpike exchange!!!!!! seriously!!!!! DRIVE!!! Also, drive out towards Seven Springs for a wonderful look at the resorts & houses... it's wild!!!!!! It's 25 minutes - but it's really neat! the 7 springs has winter skiing BUT has summer time alpine slides!!!! Outlets for mom are good & very close to hotel! 1 thing - we go there and paid for our room and 2 others... when my brother in law got there and we were out - he tried to check in with the room we paid for(for him) and she made him upgrade, pay MORE MONEY and move all the way on the other side of the hotel NO WHERE NEAR US. I freaked out and she lied and lied about what happened- I was actually embarrased for her. BE CAREFUL - the front desk lady (she has an accent) says one thing but does other things... READ YOUR BILL AT CHECK OUT TOO!! last thing - huge mud bike convention when I was there -- I have to say everyone there was really nice ... even with all the partying. I have never met an unfriendly guest there. never. 48 bucks - you get what you get. It's really a middle of the line budget motel... that hasn't been updated for decades. BRING YOUR OWN PILLOWS if you like fresh or clean scent... use theirs if you want to smell Fred Smith who stayed there in May of 1974.

okay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/12/07
You get what you pay for. We have here several times, because it is cheap. My kids enjoy the pool in the summer time. Usually they are the only ones in there, that is nice. The owners are very nice people. Even gave us a discount one time because we stayed there before. The price is right if you are on a budget, the housekeeping could be better. If you have allergies make sure you take your pills with you, Somerset can do havoc on them and with the Knights Inn being an open hotel there is alot of allergans in the air.

A good stay
By mary, 09/03/06
We stayed here a few years ago, and did so again recently. The Hotel is located with-in waliking distance to many restaurants. The rooms were clean, spacious, had a mini-fridge and microwave, and the price was very good. If we are in the Somerset area again, we will be staying again.

Old but Clean
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/09/06
We were looking for a place just to sleep on our road trip- we arrived late and left early the next morning. This place was ideal for that because it was very inexpensive, but clean and functional. The decor was very outdated and that was a little shocking when we first walked in, but overall it was a pleasant stay and we actually stayed there again on our way home.
