Description

Opened in 1984 as a bed and breakfast, the Harraseeket Inn was built by a Maine family with a history of inn keeping that goes back to 1895. This luxury country inn encompasses two period buildings (1798 and 1850). Together with its modern (1989) addition and five acres of grounds, all within walking distance to the entire village. It has air-conditioning, cable television with HBO, a complete sprinkler system for your safety, and all the amenities any discriminating traveler would expect. Enjoy your complimentary tea every day in our mahogany paneled drawing room, after a day of exploring more than 100 factory outlet stores that have turned Main Street into an exciting shopping Mecca. Ralph Lauren, Ann Klein, Perry Ellis, Bow Street Ltd., Laura Ashley...the list goes on and on. If shopping isn't for you, visit Wolfe Neck Park or Mast Landing Sanctuary and explore the coastline, hiking along the edge of the ocean amidst the most beautiful scenery you will ever see. Check out the Town Landing, where the lobster fisherman and clammers bring in their daily catch. Hop an excursion boat to the islands, rent a sailboat or a powerboat to the islands. Play golf: go to the beach, visit the Admiral Peary Museum iat Bowdoin College, the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath...there are hundreds of things to do and places to go. Many of our guests use the Inn as a base while they explore the Lakes Region or go day tripping to Boothbay Harbor or Camden. You can also take in an L.L. Bean Public Clinic and learn how to build a fly rod, cook small game or just survive in the Maine woods. Bean gives very interesting courses all year. Start your day with a sumptuous Maine breakfast...we put the coffee on at six a.m. for the early risers. Your breakfast is included in your room rate. Lunch is an exciting event, served buffet style with a delicious array of appetizers and entrees. Our dinner menu is unsurpassed, featuring traditional American cuisine with a con.

Wicked Good
By ,
We have been coming here over twenty years - they are real "Mainiacs" who are real and friendly. Their breakfast is the best and the tavern has the best deals in town (but stay away from the fireplace - too hot!!) We look forward to our next stay.

EXCELLENT and FRIENDLY
By ,
The location is great, within walking distance of shops. The onsite restaurants are excellent, have great ambience. The staff is unquestionably friendly, everyone seemed to be happy to help and answer any questions. For example, at our last visit, the lady that prepared the Caesar salad at tableside took 15 minutes to give us detailed instructions on how to get to some nice scenic lighthouses in the area. (Thankfully we were the only ones left in the dining room, so she didn't have to ignore anyone else to help us for that long). We will definitely be back again.

Well worth the stay...
By ,
We stayed in one of the 3 bedroom townhouses which accommadated 2 couples, a single guy & a small child. Except for only having 1 full bathroom & the mattresses could be upgraded, it was a perfect location to all shopping as well as dining. The staff was excellent & extremely friendly. The property was amazingly kept, the breakfast buffet was plentiful, the pool was spotless & the value made it well worth the visit. Highly recommended by all of us!

A very special place
By ,
This is such a wonderful place to get away to, even if you don't like to shop. The Inn is fabulous. The Broad Arrow Tavern is excellent and the Maine Dinning Room is one of a kind. We love the attention to detail on every little thing from check in to check out.

We're going back in April
By ,
The Harraseeket staff is there to make their guests comfortable. They host an afternoon tea, along with a continental, or full breakfast, all included in the room rate. If you like a quiet, clean, atmosphere, and a wonderful place to dine, then you'll just love this place. We do.

great spot
By ,
What a great spot for a luxury class hotel near bargain shopping! Always enjoy an afternoon cocktail in the tavern and dinner has not disapointed yet! The wine list selections by the glass are pretty great as well. The breakfast buffet is more than generous and delicious. Its well worth the trip, even if it looks expensive, you'll get the bargains out shopping!

Very Elegant!!
By ,
This place was amazing. It is definitally first class. The service was great.. everyone was beyond nice. The rooms were very comftorable and beautiful. I felt very comftorable there. The location was great. The shops are all there. The food there was also excellent. I reccomend their Broad Arrow Tavern. It was a great place. The only negative was the cost. It's very pricy but it all is worth it. Nothing even compares to this!

Best Inn Ever Stayed At!
By ,
My Husband and I stayed here several years ago, and we both agree by far this was the best inn we have ever been to!! We had a jacuzzi in our room and a queen sz bed! We at The Tavern the first night, which was like an upscale steakhouse and had excellent food! The second night we at in The Maine Dining Room - which was probably the best food and experience we have ever had at a restaurant. The breakfast buffet was by no means continental on top of everything! We would definately go back, you have to save your money though - its not a cheap experience and trip- but definately worth the money!!!
