Travelodge Wynyard, Sydney

We have just returned from our third trip to Sydney. Each time we have stayed at a different hotel, the Marriott Harbor on Pitt Street, Sir Stamford (Double Bay now closed) and the Travelodge Wynyard located on York Street. The Travelodge is clean and very centrally located to everything in the city and the cost was very fair. Our total cost for 11 days was approximately $973.00 US. The room was fine, flat screen TV, queen size bed, the room could use a makeover. My biggest two complaints about the Travelodge are the hotel could very easily set itself as the trend leader by offering its guest wireless service free in the room, or at least in the lobby and the cost of their morning buffet. The cost to use the internet in the lobby is $2.00AU for 15 minutes, is a joke and the $20.00 cost for buffet breakfast is outrageous. You really should not spend very much time in the room, if you are serious about seeing Sydney. So for the money the Travelodge was a great deal. I watched US tourist paying for tours and other items which are basically free if you know your way around. Great Place. Was there in the fall of 06. My travel agent put me there. Everything (Opera House, Shopping) is within walking distance and a train station just down the street. A great breakfast every morning. I was out all night and never had problem walking back to this place. Felt very safe.

The Travelodge Wynyard was a nice, clean hotel. Great location!! Just a 10 min walk to Sydney Harbour (cruises, Opera House, etc..). Great view from our room of Sydney Tower! Restaurant on site. Had very nice selection of food (we had breakfast each day). Good variety of hot/cold items. Would highly recommend! :)

I was there in June of 2005. My booking company did a great job of putting together my package. I feel very strongly, I got my monies worth. Great walking location to the Parliment, Sydney Bridge, Opera House, The Rocks & Quay. All with-in walking distance. Plenty to see and no regrets!
