The Victoria Hotel Melbourne an All Seasons Hotel, Melbourne

While I found the Victoria the least visually appealing of the hotels I stayed in during my trip to Australia, I tried to keep in mind that they were renovating. The service was by far the best, which made up for a little dust here and there. The Victoria's location is fantastic if you like Aussie Rules Football or Rugby as the stadium is nearly across the street. In addition, the Crowne Plaza casino is a mere four blocks walk from the front door of your suite. There is also a subway within one block. Simply based on the service we were provided during our multi-night stay, I would again choose this accommodation were I to return to Melbourne. It's an older hotel, but has been cleaned up quite nicely.

The carpets were gross - all floor space is unbelievably dirty including cigarette butts on stairs (how can this be?). The layout is confusing and maze like especially if you are on 8th floor and over the reception area where you can only access by a change to a 2nd lift. I was petrified there would be no way out if there were a fire. The only positive was the location but there were other options (highly recommended but unfortunately not available when I booked) that were just as close to the CBD and nice and clean.

Loved it and will be back soon. My partners been there a few times but this was my first visit here. The rooms was great and the hotel lovely, loved all the history on the walls. Great atmosphere all round. The only little thing was the service elevator, we got it every time!!!

The room (one queen size bedroom) allocated for me was terrible and I barely sleep the entire night. The worse thing was that I was charged almost $100 per night per room for not able to sleep due the below reasons. A few things that scared me of the entire stay: - The door was half broken (under my impression) and as if it would fall off. I could hear the noise of the next door very well at 2am in the morning! - The customer service was terrible with unfriendly staff (as if they ahve received no professional) over at the reception desk. - The cleanliness was terrible. Dirt and black marks were on the showerframe and floor. Toilet bowl was disgusting with black marks on it. I hardly use it! - The air-conditioner was not funtioning well at all and too noisy (old tiny non split system). ALL IN ALL, I HAVE HAD THE WORSE EXPERIENCE staying at this hotel. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN and NEVER RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE. The entire night, I felt like I was in a refugee camp and I think the refugee is must better than the room I stayed at.

This hotel is situated right in the middle of the city centre! You are within walking distance to anywhere around the city. The room is reasonable, but I encountered one occassion where my room was not replenished with toiletries and coffee bar during my 6-day stay. Got a bit upset having ran out of coffee and sugar for the night. Luckily, I had my own soap. I would gladly recommend this place for its price and location. Anyway, you will be touring around the state, so it is ok to put up with the little anomaly that may occur.

Dark long passage ways to rooms make this hotel a scary experience. Extremely small and squeezy room even for an Asian standard. Even the door chain is installed wrongly! Handle to door so loose that it can drop off anytime! Service is bad and is often greeted without any smile (you can even hear the snort). Distasteful experience. Wont want to visit it again.
