The Sands, City of Gold Coast

Ive stayed here 3 times .Dont expect more than it is , an older , basic apartment . If you want nice size rooms , GREAT location ,transit stop over the road to all fun parks, beach across the road , 1minute walk to the heart of surfers , and basically a clean and great value place to base yourself for a cheap lazy vacation , then THE SANDS is great . If you want a place that you want to hibernate in instead of enjoying the glorious outdoors and funparks etc , then dont stay here and then complain .

While the hotel is located right in the heart of Surfers Paradise, the people who run the place are EXTREMELY rude and not helpful whatsoever! They will make your holiday vacation a nightmare!

We loved our stay, it was so handy to everything and at a good price. We are definitely going back next year. The beach was right across the road and the bus service just a stroll away as were all the shops and eateries. Great location.

We had a great time there, the shopping/dining was just minutes walk from the apartment which meant we could come and go as we liked. Night markets on Wed and Fri nights were just across the road, as was the beach. Close to bus stops and we had privacy, will go back next year.
