Lovely but crowded and overpriced

A lovely hotel with beautiful surroundings. But archaic plumbing means that you should not choose a room on the first floor. The sound of overhead water flow is deafening. We were jolted awake a number of times by overhead guests having showers or baths late at night. Water hammer is unacceptable in a 5 star hotel. Book tables well in advance - for both afternoon tea and dinner. Breakfast is chaotic, noisy and over-populated, more like a university cafeteria. It's a visually appealling hotel - and the pool and gym are great - but it's bursting at the seams to cope with the crowds and provide 21st century infrastructure.
