Can't complain about a thing
Last time I was there they were starting to renovate the guest rooms, which I am sure will only add to the appeal of one of the city's top three or four establishments. Top three or four in Bangkok would be off-the-charts extraordinary in most cities.
I love this place, having stayed frequently over the years. The pool and pool deck are an urban haven. Get one of the few cabana rooms that overlook the garden. The Italian restaurant is great, the Thai restaurant is great, and the Japanese restaurant is great. The gym is beautiful. For a modern building it comes a lot closer to grand-hotel ambiance than you would expect, and the gardens and orchids and art just add to the feeling that you are somewhere special.
The Skytrain's proximity now means it's really convenient, too -- as well as being a short walk from the city's shopping hub, not a small consideration in a hot, congested city.
