Best hotel in Bangkok
My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and we can't wait to go back. It is, by far, the best hotel we have ever stayed for the money. Here's why.
First of all, we were treated with class and respect from the very start. Though my wife and I are fairly young (late 20's and mid 20's), we experienced no snobbery from what a relatively posh hotel. After a long flight, we were picked up in a new Benz with cold drinks and warm towels waiting in the car. Once at the hotel, we discovered the rooms to be welcoming and comfortable, and the room service was excellent. Furthermore, the concierge service was top notch. Again, with class and respect, I told her of the events my wife and I wanted to do and about our trip to Chiangmai. She got us the best tickets at Lumpini Arena for muay-thai matches, recommended to us terrific restaurants, and best of all, she booked tickets for us to Chiangmai and for our return trip.
Secondly, I think the location of the hotel across the river works to its advantage. We took the boat across the river every morning to catch the train, but it gave us a sense of seclusion from the rest of Bangkok.
Last but not least, the hotel amenities were an excellent break from the bustling and noisy city scene. The pools and spa were very relaxing. Also, the free brunch (not sure if it's still free) was top notch.
If you plan on going to Bangkok, don't hesitate to book a room at this hotel. I'd recommend a room with a view over the river. You won't be sorry.
