Malaysia Hotel, Talat noi

Hotel itself and location is good but we had a very bad experience. We had some of our personal belongings stolen in our locked room. The cleaning staff is highly suspected but no proof... Manager just claims that everything should be put in the hotel safe to avoid problem. Police investigation had no outcome... Anyway, this is the 1st time in 30 years of travel that I have to deplore such incident (total loss: 450 Euros).

The Malaysia Hotel offers a true kaleidoscope of what Bangkok and Thailand are really like : friendly staff, colourful people (many gay clients on average), unbeatable rates, cosy atmosphere, fine location close to the night bazaar and Lumpini Park. I keep on going there. Agreed that it will not be the most deluxe property in the city, but you will never find this value for money. And one asset on top : every taxi driver in Bangkok knows the place !

The Staff and accomodations at the Malaysia Hotel are excellent. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Rooms are nice sized and staff will assist in whatever I have requested. I always book this hotel. It is possible to stay in more expensive hotels, but why?

This hotel is excellent value. It is clean and well maintained and the rooms are spacious. The staff is helpful and friendly. It is conveniently located for transport, shopping, and night life. Its dining room offers a wide choice of good food.

Yes, Time travel is possible. Get ready for 1975. I love the Malaysia Hotel and have been staying here since 1992. The rooms are spacious, clean and OK. You definetely get your $16 worth. The atmoshere is pure late 1960's - mid 1970's......The clientel is as colorful as it gets....lots of gay men of every age. The coffee shop is open 24/7 and prepares authentic Thai food.......not watered down for tourists. Location is good. A 40 baht taxi ride gets you to Silom Road area. Please don't come here expecting the Hilton or even Days Inn. Everything is old, a little shabby, but it all works somehow.
