I stayed there
By Low, 10/26/08
The counter staff and security guards are courteous who greed guest whenever they came across one. The room serivce even called to check whether you want your room makeup . I stayed in a non smoking room on the eight floor for three days it is clean however the bath tub looks a bit worned out . The tap water is a bit yellowish . On the whole my stay there is a pleasant one.

Needs Renovation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/4/08
Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in Jan 2008, while the location was great, the cleaniness and service was fairly poor. The hotel itself is fairly old and the carpets very stained and dirty. The housekeeping is sub-standard. Everyday for 5 days we had to ask for something that was not replaced, be it the towels or tea/coffee. Once when we informed them that they did not replace the hand towels, we were told they ran out of it. The same thing happened with the adapter, initially we were given a faulty one and then when we asked for a replacement we were told none was available. The kids just used the swimming pool once and found it so dirty that they did not want to go back. When we asked about the DVD player, initially we were told that it was in the room already, when informed that it was'nt there, they asked my husband for 300 ringits/night. They later changed to 100 ringits when my husband told them that he could buy one for half that price. I guess the buffet breakfast was okay, but still worst of the 4 hotels we stayed in singapore, malaysia and thailand. The staff were not rude, which was a plus. I hope the management will seriously think about upgrading this hotel, as it is, compared to all the other 4 star hotels we stayed in, this is not a 4 star hotel

I've extended my stay for 2 more days!!
By Meg, 12/31/06
checked in on christmas eve.. having a blast while staying in the hotel. what can i say? rooms are spacious and though at that season, rooms availablities is tight but still they manage to get my family 2 rooms!!.. concierge! two thumbs up.! and the japanese staff at the reception. very friendly! i've gone for an entertainment at the salsa havana (hotel pub) and just at my 1st step, i felt welcome by the environment and staff. They treated me and my sister very very good.. outstanding. impressed and extended 2 more days.! I have the simplest tastes. I am only satisfied with the best And this hotel earned it! keep up the good work.

no bedroom slipers
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/16/06
When i first went in Federal Hotel, it looks nice. But then, i saw no bedroom slipers compare with Berjaya Times Square Hotel!!!! The place also doesn't have a beautiful view of KL from the apartment suites. Almost all!!!

Never again
By L, 12/14/06
I stayed there in July 2006. Reception was slow. The room is spacious enough. However, the room was without towels and it took more than an 1 hour for housekeeping to bring in towels. Some of the staff was rude when asking questions and no extra pillows were given. Location was good as it was close by to Bukit Bintang Plaza and Sungai Wang Plaza.

I still want to go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/23/06
I stay for one night and I found a lot of ants inside the side-table but I like the bouncy bed. The location is convenient.

federal was the firsrt place I called home after landing in KL. It was a learning experience. Is the bowling alley still there. It was about 35 years ago.[Glad to know it is still there.\\
Loved the restaurant First revolving restaurant Actually the only one I've ever been in. I felt comfortable there, knowing I would be living there for months. It was 1970-71 when I was there

way past its due date
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/28/06
This place is in need of a big clean up. It was so dirty, that we didn't want to have a shower or even go to bed. Becareful when going to bed, as you must check if there are stains on the bed sheets. This was the ultimate turn off for us. However, the hotel's location is close to most of the tourist places. All in all, this hotel shouldn't advertise themselves as 4 star...
