Recommend the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/18/08
I read most of the reviews and almost all of them date back quite a while ago (before the multi-million dollar renovation) I loved this hotel. The service was as amazing as at the Oriental Hotel in Bangkok. They treated us like royalty. They always smiled and were extremely friendly. Best of all they all spoke english. It was not hard communicating with any of staff members. After only 5 minutes at the hotel they already new our names. It was in a nice location and the rooms were extremely clean and were well appointed. It was a mix of Oriental and Modern styles that really worked together. I have stayed at many hotels in Hong Kong including The Four Seasons Hong Kong, The Peninsula in Hong Kong, The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong. This was THE BEST hotel I have ever stayed at in Hong Kong. I loved everything about it. THE SPA was unbeatable. The restaurants were amazing and the facilities were 5+ star. If you are staying in Hong Kong. This is the hotel for you.

Was waiting for Hotel car to take me to Kai Tak. It was 3 minutes late. The manager came out and chatted to pass the time. The remainder of the stay was similar

Outstanding Service/ Dated Decor
By Paul Huie, 1/18/06
Can't say enough about the phenomenal service; knowledgeable, friendly, curteous and attentive staff. Can't be beat location right in Central. I dinged the value b.c rooms are dated. I understand that they are renovating the entire hotel, though. New Mandarin boutique-style hotel just opened up 2 blocks away. V chic.

I will stay there again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/17/06
This was a classy hotel. The service was phenomenal and I didn't want to leave. The hotel was right outside the main square where a number of events were going on. It was also close to the Star ferry and other transportation modes. I am looking forward to going back.

3stars hospitality
By sarah, 12/31/05
Mandarin Oriental is elegant and very comfortable 5star hotel (although i prefer more gorgeous type hotel). However the service and the hospitality were not 5star level.

Lovely Hotel
By Lisa, 5/23/05
This is a wonderful hotel situated in the heart of Hong Kong. Very lovely decor, harbor views and outstanding service. The cafe on the ground level is delicious, I highly recommend. The bakery is perfect not to mention tasty if in the mood for a snack or any baked goods. The beauty salon is fabulous with phenomenal service. I always stay here when I visit Hong Kong.

Asian Elegance
By James, 4/25/05
Mandarin Oriental is an example of perfect blend of east and west elegance and has absolute first class service. While the hotel maybe a bit older than most of the 5 star hotels in Hong Kong, the rooms and other offerings are mostly in perfect condition. For those who are doing buisiness in Hong Kong, the hotel is located in the heart of Central District. Look for hotel's website for internet specials. And a meal in Vongs restaurant on the 25th floor is not to be missed.

Terrific Lodging
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/17/04
An elegant, refined, subtle experience. Large, well-appointed rooms. The service is efficient & understated. The location is superb--probably the best in Hong Kong. Small indoor pool with well-equiped gym.

Pamper yourself
By tchu_yhoo, 7/23/04
This hotel must have the most gracious service in the world!

If you can't afford to stay at the Mandarin, I highly recommend dropping in for High Tea in the lobby. It's a calm oasis in the hustle bustle of Hong Kong. Service is impeccable.
