Sofitel Marrakech Lounge and Spa, Marrakech

I visted the Sofitel in Marrakesh in July 2005 and was very disappointed. The hotel staff were rude and as was made to feel like a burden. Very few staff speak english and as french speakers tended to focus their efforts on the french visitors. I asked them to arrange a taxi to and from the airport, and pre-paid for the service. However, when arriving the driver insisted we had to pay and after explaining that I had pre-paid the hotel staff denied this and I later discovered that they have over charged my 3 times the average cost. I also asked for postcards I had written and stamped to be posted - none of them arrived at their destination and assume the hotel staff simply didn't post them. If you are looked for a 4 or 5 star hotel in Marrakesh don't go to the Sofitel!
