A truly African Experience
By phenylketoneuric, 2/18/08
In the midst of such a bustling and alive city it was a true delight to come across staff so professional and courteous. The concern of the Reception staff, the great international cuisine and the price were all do impressive ! I travel to Nairobi on business and am definitely going back there !

Memories forever !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/4/07
Sometimes there are such strong reasons to visit a place that one does not evenexpect to see anything else - so when my family and me planned our safari - game drive vacation - we just did not expect a great hotel and such friendly service. The staff at The Stanley was simply mind blowing - I would reccommend that to everyone to just spend a night there before moving on !

Still dreamin' about the Stanley
By Julie, 3/24/06
pros Stayed at the Stanley in 2001. Kenya Airways placed us there while our plane was suffering from technical difficulties. The check-in was fast considering the unexpected rush at 9:00 p.m. My room was well furnished and nicely kept, although my brother claimed that he got bit by a mosquito while staying in his room. The food was delicious and the menu offered a lot of variety. The nightly entertainment was enjoyable featuring plenty covers of popular songs. The hotel is located downtown and there are plenty of hangout spots. Cons On the second day of our stay we found that some of our items had been lifted by the cleaning lady. Room service was unbelievably slow; it took about one hour and a half for our food to arrive and our checkout bill was wrong. All in this is a comfortable place to stay.

Highly reccommend the chicken
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/3/04
On my first night I sat down in the luxurious exchange bar and asked to look at a menu from the Zen restuarant. Roast baby chicken. It sounded good so I ordered and ate in the bar. I can safely say it was the best chicken I have ever eaten, the skin was crisp and golden all round, the flesh was tender and juicy, the seasoning was just perfect. The vegetables that accompanied the chicken all looked and tasted as if they had been individually lovingly cooked by a chef, one at a time, they were crunchy and steaming hot. I still dream about that chicken, I hope you have the same experience if you decide to try it. You can't order it from the restaurant downstairs, only from the Zen or in the exchange bar.

great location, great hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/22/04
Great location in downtown Nairobi, a wonderful place to either start or finish a journey, with the famous thorn tree cafe a renowned meeting point. If you want nightlife its round the corner, or for history just look at the old pictures of colonial Nairobi in the hotel forecout. Or for relaxation take a dip in the 7th floor open pool, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. I would recommend the Stanley for anyone who has a couple of nights in town, or even as a place to meet and have luncheon, or an evening meal and drinks.
