Comfy, if a little worn
By ,
The Hotel itself is OK, the room comfortable, the bathroom a little tatty. One member of the staff at check in was rude and discourteous. Downstairs, Diggers Bar is a misnomer; its a huge knocking shop - I found it hard to just sit and have a beer without constant unwanted female attention. But if that floats yer boat then don't let me stop you...

Worst hotel in the middle east!
By ,
I have stayed in quite a number of 4 star hotels in the middle east and this must be one of the worst. The hotel is very noisy because of the disco/bar downstairs and there are frequent knocks on the door by prostitutes touting for business. The rooms are shabby and not particularly clean. All this could perhaps be overlooked if the staff weren't also incompetent and rude. The manager was extremely unpleasant and demanded payment for things that the hotel had lost. Even when it became clear that the hotel had been at fault, no apology was offered by the management. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, only stay here if all other options fall through.

Well worth a visit and a stay.
By ,
The hotel is probably the premier place to stay if you want western expat company in the Diggers Bar - the only other compatible places are the British Club and the Country Club. You will also find a live rock band, if the Filipina guitarist is on stage its worth the visit just to listen to her play. The rooms are pretty good with all the usuals you expect at the better hotels cable/satelite tv and a mini bar, without having to pay Hilton prices. Try to get a room at the Gold Suq end over the restaurant, Diggers Bar and the other bars are at the other end of the building and the noise travels. Diggers Bar has entertainment of the adult kind dressed up to the nines - used to be Thai but is now mainly Chinese. If your desires stretch to South Mediterranean ladies they are in the adjoining Delmon bars. The bar meals are reasonable, and the beer is good. As for security in the area, I have been in and out of the Delmon and Diggers for as long as I can remember the Delmon being there, I have never had a problem with the staff, the clientel, the expats, the 'ladies' and the locals. The police keep out of the scene but be assured, they are not far away guarding the gold suq, so stay sober and DONT even think of driving if you have had a skinful - the fines and other penalties are severe. Gulf Expat (29 years in the sand)

Honest opinion
By ,
The Hotel has a disco till 2 am in the moring its a 2 story so you cant avoid the noise, The place is full of ladys of the night and the main clientel is saudie and Expats their to get drunk and have the company of a lady for a price. The breakfast was terrible (Indian style) walk out the door and its arough area the it has a gols mall out side and it is guared by 2 guntoting secury or police men,the cash points have a armed officer standing by.with in 2 streets you are in a area that is totaly unsafe.very sleeze. stay away from the hotel and area. I am an expat british and honest, book 5 star only or you will been looking at a palce of ill repute, and remeber thay were probably in your bed before you.

I CANT AIT TO STAY IN IT AGAIN
By ,
I LIKE THE PLACE TOO MUCH BECAUSE THE ROOMS ARE GREAT THEY HAVE TV,HAIR DRYER,IDD TELEPHONE,PRIVTE BATHROOM,AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THE MINI BAR IS WONDERFUL IT HAVE ALL THE THINGS I NEED IT HAVE WHISKEYS,RUMS,VODKAS,GINS AND BEERS+WINE & CHAMPAGE AND I DRINK ALCOHOLIC DRINKS. THE DELMON INTERNATIONAL HOTEL IS A 6 STAR HOTEL NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL. IT IS IN THE DOWN TOWN OF BAHRAIN SO I LIVE IN DAMMAM,SAUDI ARABIA SO I COME TO THIS HOTEL EVERY HOLIDAY 6 OR 7 TIMES IN THE YEAR AND AT SOME WEEKENDS I GO TO DELMON INTERNATIONAL HOTEL AND STAY 2 OR 3 NIGHTS. THE LONGET TIME I STAYED IN DELMON WAS 12 DAYS. THE FIRST TIME I STAYED AT DEMON HOTEL WAS IN 1994 I WAS 19 YEARS OLD. SO ITS A GREAT HOTEL.

I will not go back
By ,
The hotel denied ever receiving my reservation although I had an expedia receipt and code number. Expedia did not help me either and the debate is ongoing. My booking was for 3 days and after the first night I had to check out, although just before I left the manager stated that he would cancel another reservation. I stated that he could of done this earlier to assist me better
