City Oberland Swiss Q Hotel, Interlaken

What an wful dissapointing experience eating in this Hotel's swiss restaurant. First the atmosphere was a dump, and the food was so bad.The rib eye steak was 1/16of inch thick, and thank god not any thicker cause the taste was so foul. The noodles were stuck together. And when I complined they were not willing to bend one each and wanted to charge me twice for going twice to their ALL you can eat Buffet.

I checked in Hotel with my family on 20.06.2008, that day temperature was 28 degree Celsius and I was provided a top floor room without fan and / or air-conditioner. When requested to the receptionist to provide me another room I was told sorry, hotel is fully booked, in-spite of booking made by me 15 days before my arrival in the Hotel. We were ready to pay extra charges but we were forced to live in that hot room. They give another day A/C room with extra charge, that also the same story A/C worked, as fan was not effective at all and the persons at the Reception counter were very rude. My room did not open with the Key and had to go down 2 times at reception counter but the lock did not open, then I requested him again to send some one to check, but he refused and told that my computer says Key is right whether it opens or not, than again I went down and spoke in a loud voice, than only he came and found that the key is not working and after 30 minutes he provided the right key. It was really a very sorry state of affairs in the Hotel, I have ever experienced so far. My experience says that this is the Worst Hotel and I will never use this Hotel in future. V.K.Jain

I have to say the staff at the reception were extremely polite and very very helpful. The breafast spread was good and the dinning roof staff very pleasent and efficient. The rooms are small and cosy. The hotel is idealy located. A ten minute walk to the Oust Station and very near the shops. We were there for two nights and i'd say we enjoyed our stay there. Good Hotel.

Enjoy the cleanliness and facilities in the room. Very good size and cosy room. Lovely service of breafast packing for early check out. Close to a train station and bus stop. Service is second to none. I lost my travel bags and they took responsibility until they were returned. Highly recommend!!!

No air condition. Can not open windows to let fresh air come inside at night becuse of noises from below, Too noisy, though they have my credit card but still want extra deposit for any amenities. Very poor desk service. Lousy breakfast.

Great Location for visiting Interlaken!! Spent 2 days there Dec 29th & 30th 2006. Nice center of town location made it perfect to see the town East & West. Only a few minutes walk from Interlaken Ost station. Room was nice & clean. Very cozy with Balcony to sit out on. Would definitely recommend staying there! Would definitely go back again. Restaurant was great too!!

Stayed at Chalet Oberland from lst to 14th July 2006. Excellent location in centre of bustling Interlaken, a bit noisy at times, mostly due to the World Cup. Full of Japanese tourists. We liked the location near to the station and handy for all the trips. The hotel was more two star than three due to the fact that our room needed completely refurbishing. Very outdated. No extractor fan in bathroom (quite small). The carpet in our room was dirty. The linen was changed every day and the bedding and towels were spotlessly clean. The breakfast was very good, plenty of choice. The reception staff were O.K. not terribly efficient. On the whole it was average and we wouldn't go back.

We found the hotel to be very clean and neat, non-smoking rooms available (unusual in Europe, even today), excellent location close to shopping and train station. The staff are very helpful, speak many languages. The hotel is a frequent stop for Asian tour groups, but the hotel is quiet and large enough to accomodate many. The place is beautiful - its Switzerland!! And the location is great, bang in the centre of the town, all shopping cantres within arm's reach, but no noise or any other inconvenience. The front office is quite friendly and helpful, the food was great. The rooms were of a good size, but they need to provide a few more amenities in the kitchenette. And the shower was a little difficult to handle. The hotel is actually smartly accomodated in various levels - interestng, we almost lost our way to the rooms!

Very good location- Nice big rooms with kitchen. Could use updating, but who cares that your room looks like 1975- You'r in Switzerland!!
