2 WEKS SEEMED LIKE AN ETERNITY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/9/07
Firstly, my room took 3 hourse to be ready, then I had to change to another one the next day because of the noise level. Even in the new room, the noise volume was still very loud. I hardly slept at all during my stay. There were lots of stag parties on and some of the guests slept by day and partied by night, so sleep for "normal people" was impossible. The pool is too small and noisy and the food in the poolside restauraunt is of low quality and quite expensive. The food in the restauraunt, however is good and this is about the only positive thing I have to say about the hotel. The reception and bar staff are unfriendly and do not make any effort to please. The bar staff try not to give you two drinks for one when it is happy hour and you have to argue with them to get what is supposed to be yours. Ladies of the night hang around the hotel and it is very sleasy at night. The tunnel leading to the beach if filthy and would be dangerouse to use at night.

Wouldn't go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/29/07
Having just returned from the Andalucia Plaza, I thought I would let you know what I thought of this hotel. I went for the weekend with friends and had been highly recommended that this hotel was one of the best to stay in, in Marbella so was really looking forward to it. We arrived on Friday and had booked to stay until Sunday (3 days) and got to the hotel at 1.30pm. Our rooms weren't ready and we had to wait 2 hours for them - not impressed! When we got to the rooms, the cleaners were still in there. Were very disappointed with the rooms - not what I would call 4 star - very basic and the furnishings were tatty. The telephones didn't work the whole of our stay; the balconies were very small and we had a lovely view overlooking the air-conditioning units! Also, the TV only seemed to like showing us Russian programmes - not much use when you're English! The one good thing about the rooms were the bathrooms - bright and clean and excellent showers. The keys to the room (the electronic swipe card type) never ever worked - we had to insert these things at least 20 times before the door opened, which was really inconvenient when all you wanted to do was to get into your room after a night out! The corridors leading to the rooms were very narrow and smelt of food - on leaving the lift we were confronted with cigarette stubs all over the floor - not a good first impression. Also, the walls of the rooms were very thin. There were a lot of stag parties at the hotel and one night we were woken up at about 2.30am by the guys in the room next door shouting and laughing and moving furniture around - this went on for 2 hours!!! Customer service was poor - reception were unhelpful, bar service was extremely slow. The pool area was very small bearing in mind the size of the hotel - there were not enough sun beds to go round and the pool itself was not that large. On the plus side the grounds of the hotel were beautiful and the breakfast was excellent. A huge choice of food was available and you could sit outside to eat - one of the best things about this hotel. Having stayed at many 4 star hotels all over Europe; in my opinion this hotel doesn't warrant its 4 stars - it's more like a 3 star and unfortunately I wouldn't stay there again, although Marbella was lovely and I would go back tomorrow!

Overall pleasent stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/9/05
Stayed in Puerto Banus (10 minutes by car from Marbella) at the Andalucia Plaza for a week with wife and 2 kids during July 05. The hotel is very clean, looks attractive from the outside and is spacious from the inside. The rooms are comfortable and as expected... nothing overly luxurious. Most rooms have small balconies and will have street views, others will be overlooking the pool... only a few to the south side would be facing the sea.. from a distance. Pool is decent, with some greenery around it. The main restaurant has a terrace overlooking the pool, kind of a nice place for breakfast. The hotel is not immediately on the beach, but rather a 10 minute walk away... an additional 5 minutes would take you to the Marina or the center of Puerto Banus where lots of shops, restaurants and other entertainment are available. The Gym and other entertainment / game room facility are very modest. With regards to food, only had breakfast at the hotel, a rich open buffet is provided in addition to a variety of fresh juices... in addition to made to order omlettes and pan cakes. Easy parking around the hotel. While the hotel overlooks the highway, once you close the windows you do not suffer from any unwanted noise. In summary, a pleasent stay... while I would rather be staying at a hotel nearer to the beach, I would not mind being at the Andalucia Plaza on a future visit.
