Took a Chance - Well Worth It!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/8/10
We just returned from our trip to Florida and stayed at the Bayway for over a week. I have to admit that I was a little skeptical based upon the other reviews (which I saw less than 48 hours before we were to arrive). I have two small children (4 and 7) and I was looking for an affordable get away. I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms are a little dated but very CLEAN! The pool area is fantastic with lots of new lounges and plenty of space. The location of the Bayway is within walking distance to lots of fast food restaurants and Wal-Mart (I stocked my fridge with breakfast and snack items). My understanding is that the motel was recently taken back by the original owners and has gone back to being family operated (the owner and his son were there a lot and even checked to see if everything was OK). We felt comfortable; there were lots of family oriented guests when we stayed (no sign of the “iffy” type). I don’t usually post to these things – but I felt that the other posts misrepresented this spot. Great value, give it a try

DONT STAY HERE, DRUG DEALERS AND PROSTITUTES
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/17/10
OK. So we were in the room for a total of about 10 min before we left. the room was horrible. Bed sheets dirty, floor dirty. It smelled like a old bar. there was bloody snot in the sink and the bar of soap was several weeks old. You can tell this room had not been cleaned or truly cleaned in weeks. The comforter was riddled with burn holes. There were drug dealers and even a working prostitute on site. People were loitering outside the office and on the balcony's. I have stayed at a few dives in my time but this is the first one I have ever packed my bags and left even when I had to pay and was not getting a refund. I would have rather camped out under a bridge then to have slept in this room and took home what ever was living in the bed. This hotel well I would say motel in this case is only good for two things. Finding drugs and a prostitute. STAY AWAY

Definitely needs improvement
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/20/09
liked that it has wi-fi, but who doesn't have it? do not walk on the carpet without shoes on-your socks/feet will turn black. there is no soap supplied to wash your hands (or blackened feet) with. the room smelled like cheap mens cologne, had to leave the a/c on high to try to circulate fresh air from outside to kill it. the bedding seemed clean. housekeeping did come by and bring more towels the second day of our stay (was there 3 days). the hotel could definitely use a face lift and serious deep cleaning.

paid more than expected
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/2/07
The reception staff were really friendly. It was close to where I needed to be. And it had wireless. But I was shocked when I got my bill: I was charged 25% MORE than when I'd booked the room 6 weeks earlier. When I inquired, they said it was because of "new management" who would not give me the price the old management agreed upon. That SHOULD have been made clear before I arrived or at least when I was checking in. NOT when I was checking out! I had to spend a LOT more money for the 5 days I was there and would have been better off staying in a nicer hotel, given the price.

Our Stay at Bayway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/21/06
The maid service was prompt. I thought they could have been more thorough in there cleaning practices. I didn't like the way they handled their bookings. If they have future reservations and they need your room, they will have you to checkout or move to another room if available. The room had roaches, but otherwise was decent.

Not as good as it used to be..
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/11/06
We've stayed here several times and sent many friends to stay here but some of them refuse to go back. It seems the place needs some updating and some of the clientel are "iffy".
