The Claiborne House, Rocky Mount

I could not have asked for a more restful and beautiful spot to relax than the Claiborne House. I traveled to VA to meet up with friends for a few days and decompress from my business. The B&B sits on a lovely small hill on a tree lined historic residential street overlooking the charming town of Rocky Mount. The huge front porch with wicker furniture harkens back to days when people sat outside and chatted with their neighbors and friends, but you can also access their free WiFi there. Shellie and Tony are the BEST B&B hosts! They are spot on with all kinds of recommendations for sites to visit and places to eat but are never intrusive. The inn is a large house and very quiet. I'd like to check out the separate Wash House Cottage on my next visit. You can find recreational opportunities, music venues, and history here in the area and come back to tranquility by Tony's landscaped ponds and gardens. My large and lovingly decorated room had everything that you need and more to make a stay comfortable. Many complimentary amenities here that you won't find in a hotel. Breakfast each morning was made with fresh ingredients and was delicious, beautifully presented, and abundant. Shellie makes perfect omelets! I highly recommend The Claiborne House as THE place to stay near the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Crooked Road Music Trail!!!

We loved the Claiborne House BnB. It is a beautiful home with wonderful innkeepers and fantastic breakfasts and coffee! I highly recommend this as the best lodging choice while visiting the Blue Ridge Parkway, Roanoke or Smith Mountain Lake! We kept an eye on the Claiborne House Blog "COFFEE TALK" and saw the best time to visit to do and see what interested us most. Red Clay restaurants is on the corner and the train depot is one block behind that had an excellent bluegrass band perform for $5 cover. A great starting point to see the area. Lots of hiking and beautiful scenery. The Claiborne House was the best value we have found staying anywhere! We highly recommend them!

Claiborne House is a great place to stay when visiting the Crooked Music Trail or the Blue Ridge Parkway area of Virginia. Not far from Roanoke VA, the B&B is a lovely house with beautiful English gardens & ponds. Perfect for relaxing & de-stressing! The Sierra Suite was super comfortable, quiet, & very roomy. The private entrance was a definite plus for me. Plenty of amenities, like TV & free WiFi. Shellie goes out of her way to provide excellent coffee every morning. You won't go away hungry after one of her delicious breakfasts with plenty of fresh fruit, juice, and a great hot dish, plus plenty of hot coffee or an assortment of teas. The house and grounds are maintained meticulously. The warm innkeepers make your stay special and know all the activities and places to see in the area. This is THE place to stay in Rocky Mount, Virginia!!
