This hotel is disgusting!

We reserved a room at the Superior Inn in Superior, WI for a Saturday night as we were heading to Lutsen on Sunday and all of the hotels in Duluth were booked.
The room was dark and drab even with the curtains wide open. There were two full beds and a very small table with two chairs and a dresser with a small TV on top, this filled up the entire room. We dropped off our luggage and went to Duluth for the evening. When returning to the hotel for bed we removed our sandals and immediately noticed that the carpet was very sticky. Not just in one or two spots - but the entire floor was sticky. I sat down and looked at the bottom of my feet and they were black after being in the room without shoes for about 10 minutes!
We were so grossed out, but decided we could just sleep there for the one night as we didn't have anywhere else to go. It was very difficult to sleep as the mattresses had plastic covers on them so everytime someone moved you could hear it. I've stayed at a lot of hotels before, but never one that was so disgusting that they had to have plastic covers on the bed (to prevent bed bugs, I'm assuming???).
In the morning, when checking out, I politely mentioned the disgustingly dirty floor and the person just said 'I'll let the manager know'. No appology, discount, or anything.
I would not recommend staying in this hotel. It is filthy and definitly not worth the price. We paid $110 + tax for the room for the one night. At that rate, I wasn't expecting a Hilton or anything, but I don't think this place is worth more than $15 to $20 a night and even at that price, I wouldn't stay there again.
