The staff at the Superior Inn was very helpful and friendly. They were responsive to all of our requests and offered more than enough support during an emergency situation with a family member. We stayed with our parents in their 70's/80's as well as our daughters ages 8 and 11. The hotel was easy for our aging parents to negotiate and our girls enjoyed the pool. The rooms were clean and comfortable. No musty smells or mold. Very reasonable price. The hotel does not appear updated recently, but it was a great value and comfortable with a great staff. We would definitely return.
The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. It's convenient to activities in both Duluth and Superior yet significantly less expensive than other hotels in the area. An excellent value, we'll definitely stay here next time we're visiting.
We reserved a room at the Superior Inn in Superior, WI for a Saturday night as we were heading to Lutsen on Sunday and all of the hotels in Duluth were booked.
The room was dark and drab even with the curtains wide open. There were two full beds and a very small table with two chairs and a dresser with a small TV on top, this filled up the entire room. We dropped off our luggage and went to Duluth for the evening. When returning to the hotel for bed we removed our sandals and immediately noticed that the carpet was very sticky. Not just in one or two spots - but the entire floor was sticky. I sat down and looked at the bottom of my feet and they were black after being in the room without shoes for about 10 minutes!
We were so grossed out, but decided we could just sleep there for the one night as we didn't have anywhere else to go. It was very difficult to sleep as the mattresses had plastic covers on them so everytime someone moved you could hear it. I've stayed at a lot of hotels before, but never one that was so disgusting that they had to have plastic covers on the bed (to prevent bed bugs, I'm assuming???).
In the morning, when checking out, I politely mentioned the disgustingly dirty floor and the person just said 'I'll let the manager know'. No appology, discount, or anything.
I would not recommend staying in this hotel. It is filthy and definitly not worth the price. We paid $110 + tax for the room for the one night. At that rate, I wasn't expecting a Hilton or anything, but I don't think this place is worth more than $15 to $20 a night and even at that price, I wouldn't stay there again.
I am thankful for the Superior Inn Staff, they helped a great deal in making my daughters 13th birthday party great. The huge room and perfect the loft was amazing and so was your staff. I will definetly use your hotel again in the future.
