Refuge In The White Mountains
A friend and I make an annual fishing trip to this area, and always stay at Reed's Motor Lodge. Don't look for anything fancy here, but in all respects this is an excellent value for the dollar. The family running it has continually improved it, and will make you feel welcome. The accommodations are comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. The "museum" off the main desk area is a fascinating look at local culture, and gives the facitity a real "summer-camp" feel. Get your complimentary cup of coffee, then stroll across the street for a country breakfast at Booga Red's. Then head for one of many excellent trout fishing areas within 20 miles or so. Reed's is a great part of our fishing tradition, and we wouldn't stay anywhere else.
