2 reviews for Tal-Wi-Wi Lodge, Alpine
been going there for 10 years!
By diane, 12/07/06
Can't think of anything to dislike!--Mike and Katie are the best! The cabins are unbelievably cozy and clean-plenty of room, we especially love the ones with the wood-burning stove--perfect for the winter get-away. The scenery, the hospitality, Mike and Katie make you feel like one of the family. And Mike makes the very best Bloody Mary's! From our very first visit 10 years ago, we knew we would make this our mini-vacation getaway.

No place like home
By kevin, 06/10/05
My first experience at Tal-wi-wi, was several years ago. At the time, being a member of a local Corvette club , we stopped there on a lunch and drink break on our way to Springerville for a weekend get away with 40-50 corvette's. I was totally blown away by the place, the people and the owners, Mike and Katie. After speaking to other members I recall asking what the hell are we going to the other place 1/2 hr away when we could be staying here. I mean , they had everything you could ever need. The Restaurant, Bar and rooms where all on property. There would be no reason to drive back and forth. The views are unbelievable as well . With the forest trees blowning in the cool weather wind, it was everything my wife had I longed for and needed. Since this first time I knew this would be our favorite place to come , relax and mingal with the local town folk and friends. Being a member of a local band here in the Phoenix area, I asked Mike and Katie one weekend If they would mind if we performed there sometime. Well the rest is history .It was truly an absolute priviledge to have been able to perform in the Bar with other members of a country/rock professional band I am with. The local residence embraced us with open arms and would always be excited to know we where coming to the mountain to perform .Even thou we would be there working it never seamed that way to any of us members, thats how they threat you there at Tal-Wi-Wi Lodge. The only negitive thing I can report to whom ever reads this, Its very hard to return home after staying there for the week-end . No place like home? Experence it for yourself you'll see how we all feel....Sincerly Kevin James, drummer SDS
