Aladdin Motor Inn, Sonora

I stayed there for 2 nights. My room was not cleaned or made up when I came back after the 1st day. It was too late to call Housekeeping. When I talked to the "Guest Services Supervisor", Mona McCarty, she said that I had to put out the "Maid, please make up room sign" if I wanted my room cleaned. No apologies - just putting the fault in the customer that it was up to me if I want my room clean. OK! Well, I supposed that explains why it was cheaper. And Mona has much to learn about the meaning of "customer service". Maybe she should try another job! Now you know. If you want your room clean, make it clear at checkout, put out the sign, escort the maid to your room, whatever. They might not do it if you don't. And they offer free wireless, but the connection is so slow that you might as well be on a 1200-baud modem (even in the middle of the night when there should be no other traffic!) Definitely a "no frills" type of inn - *REALLY* no frills!

Have been staying at Aladdin the last nine years, two or three times a year. Wife's family lives in Sonora. Rooms are big, clean, quite.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the kids had a ball making their waffles, the drive to the snow park is a short one, I really loved being surrounded by very good places to eat. We'll be back on our next trip to the snow park.

We have stayed here every year for the last four and have never had a bad experience. The staff is wonderful (they even mailed a forgotten doggie water bowl back to my father). The buffet in the morning is way better than any other hotel's buffet. We're talking make your own waffles, all you can eat cereal, muffins, bagels, milk, juice, coffee and probably some stuff I am forgetting. The rooms have refrigerators and microwaves and there are four designated dog rooms. How cool is that? For just going up for the weekend to play in the snow or even for the first time or casual skier, the value is great!

Our family had more amenities than higher prices chain hotels in the area and we had a better rate. Quality, quaint motel with friendly staff. The rooms are in better shape than the chain hotels we stayed at last summer, too. We are going to try and plan our family reunion there next year because they have the cutest conference center on-site as well.

I have been to Aladdin many times. The time I remember most was when my family went up to bury my mom. They were so great and understanding! The staff went out of their way to comfort us. They even KNEW my folks! What REALLY nice people!

Staff very helpful and friendly, even with my 0330 arrival time and no reservation. Beds a little harder than my plush pillow top at home! Easy access from the highway and free breakfast was an added pleasure.

Friendly staff, great breakfast. clean & comfy stay. Rooms were welcoming. A little warm at night but the air conditioning really helped. It'll be our first choice next time we're in Sonora.
