American Budget Inns, Harriman

If you like nasty, sticky, torn and stained things then this place is for you. DO NOT GO HERE!. This place is nasty! I checked in because there were no other rooms over labor day weekend...I walked in and wanted to run screaming. I didn't want my kids even sitting on the bed. The window had a make shift air conditon unit cover made from plywood and duck tape. The bathroom not only smelled like ass but had hair and grime everywhere. I felt like I was in a hollywood horror movie set..not joke. The tub actually had been painted w white paint...badly I might add, rather then cleaned properly. The "table" was sticky and crusted with "stuff". Even my 12yr old asked how in the world they passed health codes. I went back, got a refund and we drove to a hotel 35 mins away. This place is a health hazard...the bed bugs at this place probably have crabs who have herpes. Stay away. This place needs to be torn down. Simply Horrid.

They wanted a cheap room near Middletown, which they got. They were visiting for 3 days. They spent 1 night in this dump. They checked out and spent the other two days at Microtel which was a little more money but much cleaner and better shape.

The manager was very rude to me and refused to rent me a room. It states that you must be 21+ and I showed her my id and she still would not rent me the room and even slammed her hand on the desk stating "I am not racist but I am not renting you a room". I never even mentioned one word about race. It was extremely rude and I immediately left. DO NOT RENT!

The rate of rooms is very reasonable and clean. I had made a reservationsagain this thanksgiving. I just hope I will be in 1st floor again.

Rooms were clean...staff was very friendly & helpful Fabulous breakfast danish!!!! No complaints at all !

THE Room was not bad,but the air conditioner was broke an we had a box fan on the floor.Next time I would like one that worked,We had to go to a funeral the next day an was un comfortable the whole night.

I had to stay here short term and I found the place to be very nice w/a friendly staff. The HBO was great, as was the deep dish pizza in the machine by lobby. All in all I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this place and would stay here again myself. :-)

We came in late in the evening & were greeted by an extremely rude individual who made it clear that he was disturbed from whatever he was doing to serve customers. The features of the room were the TV remote that did not work ( We went downstairs to change it but the receptionist was no where to be found), the missing lightbulbs, the broken furniture and the insufficient amount of towels for two people. It is after all a budget hotel so don't expect to find shampoo or a hair dryer but there is soap. The towel is like sandpaper so bring your own. The positive aspects were the fact that it did have toilet paper & running water. Ther is an alternative in Harriman or better still, stay in some of the chains in the towns which are close by. Stay out of this one.

This place was awful! The rooms were filthy - we wore socks so we wouldn't have to touch the carpet. If we hadn't been so tired we would have left, but there is no other motel/hotel in town. To top it off, the motel double charged my credit card - I found out days later.

In the Movie Vacancy the owner of the Motel kills his guest and then films it to show to each guest who rents a room before he kills them. That Motel with all those killings was a better place to stay than the American Budget Inn Motel.
