Waters Edge Resort, Murrells Inlet

Our 1st impression of this place was wow. The grounds looked clean, the parking garage was well lit, and the reception desk was manned by friendly souls. Our room was what one would expect in a 40 year old condo. It was in good working order but showed some age. Most items where purely superficial. Every thing that mattered was in good shape. The overall cleanliness was around a 7. The view from the all ocean front balconies was a 10! The outdoor pool, the indoor pool, the outdoor hot tub, and the indoor hot tub were in great shape. There were kept clean while we were there. The outdoor furniture and indoor furniture were in GREAT shape. The weight room looked in good repair. The bar there looked to be well used. The gift shop was a tad small and was closed during our stay. The elevator worked well during our stay. The internet was ok at best. The parking garage was in good shape and offered enough spaces. The lines were well marked. This condo offered what I say was the best entrance to the ocean that I have ever seen. We could literally be on the ocean in 2 minutes from our room. When returning we could be back in about the same. The staff here were pleasant to deal with. I would stay here again in a heart beat.

Where do I start? My grandson had just graduated from basic training from Fort Jackson and we thought we would take him to the beach for few days to relax prior to returning to finish his last year of high school. The heat was horrible, there were only 2 elevators that we had to wait on for 15 to 20 minutes every time we wanted to use them. When we walked in the room (suite 412), it smelled like no one had stayed here for years. I called the front desk to tell them about the ice maker was not working and when you turn the washer on, the cold water just barely came out. Maintenance was sent up to work on it and they thought they had it fixed but it wasn't. When all us were ready to go to bed we discovered that the bedding was dirty. There was sand on the comforters and they were dirty, one bed had a bloody toenail stuck to the sheets and there were tags that had been pulled off of clothes and covered up so there was no way that this place had been cleaned. The bed in the back bedroom was so worn out it was almost in a V shape. There were dirty towels in the closet in the middle bedroom. I called the front desk, they sent the security guard up with clean linens. Gee thanks! The next morning I called the front desk again to let them know about the washer again. Management wanted to know all that was wrong so I told her the awful experience we were having. She said she could move us but we needed the group in room 404 moved also and they couldn't move them so it was not acceptable for us to be split up. Actually the entire vacation was not acceptable. Room 404 air conditioner didn't start working until Saturday and they left on Sunday. The management said they would send a cleaning team up, she said they had them standing by. It was well after lunch before they showed up. Maintenace did come by to work on the washer again but said he would have to get his boss to work on it. Well that was the last we saw of anyone. We finally started filling the washer up with pitchers of water just so we could do laundry. It was the worse place I have ever stayed in my life and will never return.

My family's stay at this hotel was amazing. The room was amazing, the staff was terrific. I cant imagine a better stay anywere. We brought seven teenagers and all of us had a great time. I would be there right now if life permitted. This hotel and it's staff went out of their way to make our stay the best vacation we have ever had. If you thinking of going to Myrtle Beach this is the place to stay. It is very close to everything and the rooms are so very comfortable. The best vacation we have ever took. Thank you waters edge staff.

Cannont fully understand the positive commetns as the five units we had ($8000.00 for one week) in no way met any of the criteria mentioned. These were the dirtiest, nastiest units I have EVER stayed in in my life! The ONLY way a person couldn't mind staying here is if there is no concern for dirt...lots and lots of it! REALLY REALLY disgusting!

We really enjoyed our week here. The rooms were beautiful, nice view of the ocean. We had 9 in our 3 br condo and had plenty of room. Very Nice vacation...looking at staying here again next year!

This year was the worst year ever at Waters Edge. Our 3 bedroom unit was terrible, outdated, icebox was 25 years old, poor lighting in kitchen and bedrooms, sofa and chair was so stained we didn't like to sit on them; washer and dryer was on its last... leg, I could go on. Probably will stay somewhere else next year.

We were skeptical of our stay after reading some of the other reviews, but went anyway. Our condo was VERY outdated - BEDROOM-cracks in the ceiling, holes in the walls, drawers would fall out if you tried to open them, closet had musky smell (my son told my husband he smelled like an old man), carpet was dirty. BATHROOMS-looked like they were from 1970's, rusty, mirrors had permanent streaks, medicine cabinet would not open, door was off hinges. HALL-stripes of wallpaper ripped off and hanging. KITCHEN - microwave MFD date was 1984, refrigerator had nasty food particles on the outside, dishes were left in the dishwasher, garbage disposal had some sort of baby item stuck in it. LIVING ROOM - carpet was FILTHY, cob webs & dust all over, pull out couch had rusty springs sticking out were you tried to put a sheet on, couch its self was dirty, very small TV with a dvd/cd player (we wanted to relax after spending the day @ the beach, went & purchased dvd's BUT the tv was so old it did not have connections for the dvd player), curtains were discolored & had holes. BALCONEY did not have a handle from the outside & the furniture was old, dirty & broke! ELEVATORAS-SLOW (we were on the 11th floor & took the stairs a few times), hot & dirty. POOL-small & cockroaches @ night!

This resort is perfect for a couple wanting to spend time together. Very quite and peaceful with no one to bother you. Rooms are very nice with an excellent view from the cozy balcony. Perfect for cooking romantic dinners and sharing long walks on the beach! Great location for shopping and going out to dinner. Great sandy beach to play and lay out on. Just and over all great place to visit. My fiance and I had a blast!

We have been staying at Water's Edge for years! We keep coming back because it is so relaxing and the views are magnificent! We started coming years ago with the kids as part of spring break. Now - minus kids - we just return as THE place to sit out in the sun, enjoy great places to dine, and relax, relax, relax!

I loved it my family had the best time we were on the 3rd floor and we had a master room it was one of our best vacations!!!!!!!!!
