Christmas Tree Inn, Maidstone

Service was horrible! Initially this started out as a nice motel in Mi Wuk. We were on a search and recovery for a missing person and we often ask for discounts for the volunteers. They gave us a $5 discount which was "fine" (we were charged $79 a night). My husband needed to go search a second day with the volunteers (we were in charge of it) and I needed to stay back at the motel to do some organizing. The previous day the owner lady said "no problem, when you are ready we can transfer you to another upstairs room for the day" as I needed interner acess. Or not. At 9:45 a.m. she used her key and rousted me out of bed claiming that "the maids need to clean the room now or they'll be late for church." After talking to the maids, I found out this was a lie. I had to sit outside by myself in creepsville for 5 hours in the heat. My husband had to leave the search early. I heard the owner lady bad mouthing me and it was just horrible. I mean why own a hotel if you don't like people? We will never stay here again. We were volunteering our time to find a family's missing mother and got this unecessary hassle? We have been on many search/recoveries and never experienced anything quite like this. Overall the room was fine until she walked in at 9:45 am (check out is 11:00 ????) and said that I had 30 minutes to get out. Buyer beware. And I don't know if this has anything to do w/ anything, but BOTH my husband's and my laptops were infected with serious viruses after using their wireless network. Please be careful.

We really enjoyed the pine and cedar trees in the area. Sonora and Twin/Harte were neat places to visit on our way to the Inn. Enjoyed clean, comfortable rooms when we got there.Also enjoyed the usual motel amenities plus in room coffee maker/with coffee, and microwave oven and refrigerator. New owners made us feel welcome and service while we were there was excellent.We plan to go back!

We just spent our first nite at the Christmas Tree Inn in Mi-Wuk and just loved it! We found out there are new owners and they are doing alot of upgrading. Very friendly and made us feel at home. The area near Sonora and Twain Harte and Pinecrest Lake is just beautiful. Plan to go back!

Clean, good location for us, not that expensive for a cheapskate like me, pool is seasonal & don't expect privacy, read the rules and follow them and no problems with mgr. Like the room amenities of microwave, refrig, TV, phone. Can be noisy if children about. Over 15 stays, we know the place. Can hear traffic rather well, but you adjust. Nearby Twin Harte has a good Chinese restaurant and others. Churches too. AAA rated last time I checked.
