Nice Place To Stay.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/27/09
My husband and I stayed at the Drama Inn in August 2009 and we had a good time. The rooms were big and roomy and there was a refrigerator and coffee maker in the room for our morning coffee. I loved out back watching people out there fishing and people swimming. I would definately stay here again. My husbands sister and here husband stayed here also and we all went out to eat and went shopping and just had fun. We stayed in room 108 and they stayed in room 102. We will go back and stay there again with our 2 boys next time. Thanks so much Drama Inn. Rickey and Beverly from South Carolina

Buyer and Biker Beware!!!
By MelodyM, 05/06/09
The Owner of this Hotel Ms. Laverne Bennett does not hold her guests in high regard. We stayed here for 3 nights in April 2009 for the Motorcycle Rally. The Rally was located directly accross from the Inn. It was quit expensive averaging $189/nite. Upon arriving back at our room on the final night of our stay we found our room had been broken into with the intruders kicking the door in and sheering the locking mechanism off of the door. We called Ms. Bennett who seemed irritated that we had woken her. She told us we could shove a chair under the door as she had no on on staff to fix it and she would call the police. We asked the next morning if she would deduct some off the final nights stay. She refused. My fiancee' had to dismantel the lock on the bathroom door so that we could actually have a room that would lock as there were no vacancies elsewhere in town. If we had been staying at a professionaly ran Inn they would have gone out of there way to ensure our stay was pleasant and comfortable. We have moved our business to the Comfrot Inn and Suites down the road. I would not stay here again if it were the only choice in town. Buyer beware!!! What total disappointment! Bikers beware as well - she has a very sterotypical mindset of those of us who choose to ride. She told me that was just the risk we assumed when we chose to stay so close to the event with the amount of drugs and alcohol that were involved over the weekend. She also said she would not file the claim on her property and casuality insurance and never once did she apologize for the inconvience. However, the Cherokee police were most pleasant and hoped that this experience would not soil our view of the area and hoped we would return for a future visit. We really thought we had wandered upon a hidden gem as our room was very secluded with a wonderful view of the river and the ducks nearby. There was a survelliance camera overlooking our deck so we felt very safe. We later found out the camera was fake!! What a pity! I can not believe she actually expected us to stay in a room that would not lock after being robbed and did nothing to try and compensate us. I think the least she could have done was personally step out of her room to ensure we were ok - as you might imagine my nerves were shot. Instead my fiancee' had to dismantel the bathroom door knob with a souvenir "swiss army" knife that I purchased for my Son. Thank God as the theives took all our tools that we usually keep on the bike! You want Drama? Stay at the Drama Inn!!! M

DO NOT STAY HERE - BUYER AND BIKER BEWARE
By MelodyM, 05/01/09
We were thrilled when we secured a reservation at the Drama Inn as it was located adjacent to the fair grounds where the annual Harley Davidson Bike Rally is held. The room was a bit expensive averaging $189 a nite for the event nites but we expected that. Our room "we thought" was a gem as it was located in a builing adjacent to the motel with a private balcony facing the river with rocking chairs. We even had our own personal surveliiance camera that made us less leary to leave the room occupied with high dollar items such as our leather jackets, tools, and GPS equipment. We returned to our room around 11:30pm on the final night of our stay to find our door had been kicked in sheering the locking mechanism from the door. Upon initial glance everything appeared to be in order. I called the emergency number listed to inform Ms. Laverne Bennett that our room had been broken into. I assumed I would find an apologetic and helpful Matron who would attempt to make our stay more comfortable instead I found a bitter lady who informed me right away she would call the police if I wanted but that she would not file the loss on her insurance. When I asked what we were supposed to do about the lock on the door. She asked if I could just shove a chair under the knob. I asked her to call the police and we did file a report as we determined that we had lost $150 in tools, souvenirs, and of all things they stole my make-up bag - go figure. Officer Taylor of the Cherokee Police Department was very pleasant and apologetic. He and the force hoped that this experience would not tarnish our view of the city and that we would return for a future visit. The officer asked if the owner had offered to switch our room and I informed him that no she had not as their were no vacancies at the Inn or in the town for that matter. We did stay but my fiancee' had to dismantel the bathroom door so that we could have a door that would lock. Upon check out she would not compensate us any on our room and seemed less than apologetic. I will never stay here again! We have moved our business to the Comfort Inn and Suites down the road. I am certain that if we had chosen to stay in a professional Hotel such as this every effort would have been made to ensure our stay was comfortable. Buyer and Biker Beware

bike rally
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/24/08
The location was great but we payed three times as much as listed. The rooms are rundown. The smells so bad we had to go buy candles and leave the doors open to air out. Would not recomend anybody to stay here.

web site misleading
By Sue, 09/08/07
We were there in Aug, 2007. They told us that the $39 was not right and it cast us around $74. I would not recommend this place. We probably could have stayed down the road with a private balcony for the same price or less. We were on our honeymoon.

WE will return!
By BETH, 07/25/07
We stayed there for it's location, and we were very pleased it was so clean, the maid service was great and the people very nice. The location was perfect for the events we were attending across the street. We could hear traffic on the the street when we sat on the porch, but, that was expected. The traffic really wasn't that bad and it was only during the main hours of the day. When we made the reservation,we knew it was an older motel. We read some reviews that were not so great before we went. I wanted that location so we made a reservation anyway,I am sure glad we did. I think some people are so used to the newer, chain motels that they don't know how to appreciate the older Mom & Pop's. It is the character of these motels that make the trip half the fun. May I mention, there was a great porch on the river,a frig in the large room and it was all very clean and very nice. We plan to return, and we want the same room ! Happy travels
