Pine Mountain Club Chalets, Pine Mountain

We recently had a 50+ person family reunion at the Pine Mountain Club Chalets. We rented the family lodge that slept 20 and then we rented 4 other cabins. This was the best family reunion yet! With all the charm and character, plus the free amentities, we couldn't have been happier. Everyone was together, even family we haven't even met yet. We have now planned an annual family reunion at the chalets and cannot wait to get back. I would highly recommend this resort to families of all sizes.

I booked a Chalet at PMCC for a wedding. The bride and groom and other guests attending the wedding had all booked chalets here as well. I went to the website and did the search per criteria, I searced for a 2 BR 2 BA chalet as it would be myself, my husband and my brother and his wife sharing the chalet. Several met this criteria and I selected #34 since it stated there were 2-3 Bedrooms and 2 queen beds plus a loft. I figured that gave each couple a room and bath to themselves and there appeared to be 3 extra beds in case someone was snoring ;). I checked the rates and it said $165 was the nightly rate for a cabin in this season with a max capacity of 7 I found no other stipulations except no pets. We arrived to find one bedroom locked and we were told that since only 4 of us were staying there that we could only use the loft overlooking the den with 3 single beds and one bedroom! What the!!!????? I explained that we booked a 2 bedroom (meaning two rooms with doors that closed and locked) and they said that the policy is that you only get 2 rooms per 4 people and they were afraid we might have extra people stay in the 3rd room. I am still confused, I thought I booked the entire Chalet. So I explain to the owner that we are 4 adult couples here on vacation and would like to be able to share a bed with our significant other. After much explaning and swearing on my honor they finally unlocked the other bedroom and then the next morning someone entered our Chalet at 5am to check and make sure no one was sleeping in the loft space. I ask you how messed up is that?!! ?? I have since re-checked the website and have not found anything about paying per room and per person per chalet.

My wife and I stayed with our five children all 8 and under and had a great time. Plenty of room for all of us at a reasonable price. Since the chalets are rent by owners, the amenities had a personal touch, like staying at a friend's vacation home. We stayed in one of the newer chalets toward the back and it was quiet and very clean , well cared for. We spent much of the day in the cute town of Pine Mountain nearby and then had a blast hand-feeding giraffes, zebras, bulls, deer, etc. at the drive through animal safari near Pine Mtn. We could have had fun just being at the Chalet Resort as it not only has fishing, but basketball, putt putt, pool tables etc. the office lends to guests. The staff were helpful in giving best places to eat, what's fun to do, etc. We are planning to go back this Fall since it was so enjoyable.
