Grant Street Inn, Bloomington

We have been to the Grant Street Inn 3 times. Once inside, it is a romantic inn, so you have to ignore the street location and parking. We stayed in the main house each time and were very happy with our rooms. The rooms we had were charming and the beds were very comfortable. We love the breakfast room and usually linger with extra coffee and the paper. My only complaint has been each time refills on the breakfast food were slow in coming, sometimes even after pointing out that more was needed to a staff person. Chilled drinks are not more room temp. It is a little overpriced in peak times, particularly when there is an IU game of any kind. Weekdays or non-game weekends in the winter are your most ecomonical. Don't always rely on the website being accurate on vacancies. Twice there have been rooms when the website showed none. We will definitely be going back. It's a gentle escape from our hectic lives.

I think that other ad reads like a promo by the owners. The Inn is nice. It is not the best place I have even been for the kind of money they charge. The food was really very average. The staff are nice. The rooms are generally quiet. Walking distance to most attractions and a pretty walk is a plus.
