Horseshoe Motel and Cabins, Eagle Nest

Don't waste your time even checking this place out. I don't understand how this place even stays in business. The owner acted like she didn't want our business. There is absolutely no effort put forth to provide any service or even tacit friendliness. Stay at the Gold Pan motel instead.

Very close to Angel Fire and to Taos, Free Transportantion from and back EXCELENT price!!! The view Espectacular, friendly service, Excelent for groups, RV big families we try to go every year and we always stay there... We just love it!!

All I can say is that I have stayed here numerous times before. The price was cheap at $40 per night. This time, arrived at night and I think the owner was trying to take advantage of me and wanted $77 a night! This is a very rustic, rundown, old facility that is certainly not worth $77/night. I balked when she quoted the price, stating that I have stayed there before for $40 a night and just paid less than $70 for a 2-1/2 star hotel in Santa Fe. She told me she didn't know me and didn't need my stinking money and told me to leave. This woman wasn't even friendly when I first walked in the door. I went to Laguna Vista Lodge which has obviously been newly redecorated and it was great. They informed me that they receive complaints about "The Shoe" all the time and that the owner is just a rude and nasty person. Stay clear of this place. There are other places in Eagle Nest that deserve your patronage.

Awful, all around. Filthy beds, mouse droppings everywhere, no hot water even though there are showers. (Although I wouldn't have stepped foot in the disgusting shower) Broken and splintered picnic table in front of our cabin. The bench was literally broken in half! The rudest staff ever! Go stay in Red River instead, it's only 18 miles away and there are some inexpensive and really nice places to stay.

We made reservations over the phone and the lady was so rude I handed the phone over to my husband. He went ahead and made a 3- night reservation, no money back. That should have been our first clue! We arrived and our porch had snow and ice all over it. We scraped it ourselves so we wouldn't slip walking in. The room was so dirty!! The trash hadn't been emptied, there were mouse droppings all over, and there was hair in the bath tub. And, the T.V. remotes' buttons had been eaten off by a mouse!! It was like going to a cabin out in the wilderness that hadn't been seen about in years, not a hotel room that was a $100+/night.

I have stayed at the Horseshoe for years and there prices are unbeatable. No other place can you stay and have a public computer in the lounge that is located on the grounds. They are also the only place in town the has in room Direct Tv, Phone, and I was told that they are in the process of putting broadband internet in their rooms. They have a great Sports Bar with restraunt that serves great food. When your on a budget like me this place is the perfect place. I can't answer for the reservation end cause I've always showed up. Would highly recommend as the place to go if your like me and like to get away on a budget.

Went to location to see what the rooms looked like, how clean and organized things where and to set up a reservation. No one was in the office when I arrived and when I finally tracked two people down they wouldn't let me see the rooms, the outside of the grounds were trashed, and they didn't want to help me with setting up a reservation for this summer. These people are not customer service oriented at all and are very rude. I will be staying somewhere else this summer. You should do the same.

Left two messages on answering machine to check availability of rooms for New Year's. Call's were not returned. When I did get to talk to a person about reservations I found her to be rude and not at all customer service oriented. For this trip to Eagles Nest I have chosen to spend my money elsewhere.

it was better than laguna vista but not as good as the morerest inn.but we would stay there again if the price was right.there should be special promotions in the off seasons after labor day.
