Surfside Motor Lodge, Carolina Beach

I love Surfside, its one of the last great family owned onthe beach. It may not be perfect, but we have always had everything we needed and great service everytime we go. I try to make it at least twice a year, and the prices are reasonable, and nothing beats hearing the surf right outside my room! Some may not appreciate the place, but hey, its NOT the marriot! If thats what you are looking for then go there! I will always come back, and I will never stay anywhere else in Carolina Beach!

My mother and I have made it a tradition to stay at Surfside every year when we go down to Carolina Beach. It was awesome every time. Our most recent visit, the staff was very friendly. The man at the counter was wonderful, and gave us the lowest price possible because he knew we'd stayed before and had no complaints. We had poolside room 11, which was downstairs and without a view. I wanted the upstairs room but we were on a tight budget. For what we got, it was worth the money. I will say that the bathroom was quite small and the shower had adequate water pressure, but other than that it was fine. The pool was great, though I am sad that they took out the slide and diving board. There were few people at the pool, all of which were friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is just looking to stay a few nights for a reasonable price. I loved that you could just walk straight out to the beach and relax. The balcony (or in my case, porch) was furnished and breezy. Also, that it was just a minute or two from the boardwalk was very convenient. Overall, this hotel was the best so far.

Me and my family took our vacation in Carolina Beach and stayed hear and everything was wonderful. It is in a gret location to everything. We are planning a trip back for next year and hope to stay for 2 weeks this year and will make Surfside our place to stay from now on

I read a few of the reviews and was a little hesitant about this place but i thought i would try it to see what it was like. I mean if i didnt like it i could always go somewhere else. Well when we got there i was really impressed with it.The rooms were all very clean and the staff were wonderful. I dont ever have maid service when i go to a motel because i like to do it myself. Well the staff came by twice a day to check on us though and brought fresh linen and said anytime we needed anything just to let them know. From all the other reviews the only thing i found to be true was that there was sand in the hallwy but hey you are at the beach what do you expect. They vacuum it every morning and evening. I am going back to the beach in a couple weeks and will be staying there again..I would recommend it to anyone..To the staff of SURFSIDE GREAT JOB.....

I JUST ACCIDENTLY STUMBLED UPON THE SURFSIDE MOTOR LODGE WHILE LOOKING FOR PLACES TO STAY AT CAROLINA BEACH AND I AM GLAD I DID. I THOUGHT THE PLACE WAS WONDERFUL. YOU HAD A MICROWAVE AND A REFRIGERATOR IN EVERY ROOM. THE ROOMS WERE CLEAN AND THE STAFF WERE WONDERFUL. THEY CHECKED ON US AT LEAST TWICE A DAY. THE RATES WERE WONDERFUL AND IT BEING OCEAN FRONT TOO.I WILL ALWAYS GO BACK THERE AND WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE. SO IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A GREAT PLACE TO STAY THAT IS OCEAN FRONT AND VERY VERY REASONABLY PRICEDS THEN THIS IS THE PLACE.

It was the worst hotel we have evver stayed in.We were told we could check in upon arrival.That wasnt true,our room hadnt been cleaned and so they wanted to give us another room.When we got in,it was dirty there was bugs ever where and the air didnt work.I demanded they give us the room we saw online.They tried to say that we had the better room.I disagreed.We got the room we paid for and it was better compared to the hell hole we were first in however it was bad and the service was horrible.We will never and I say never stay there again.The pics and info you see online are false.its nothing like what you see.Save your money and time and dont book with the

Just want to say my Family and I went to Carolina Beach for the 4th. We had a room at Drifters Reef checked out the same day. Got a room at Surfside and I know where we will stay from now on. Surfside is a wonderful place to stay. Clean rooms,friendly staff and just all out a great place.So if you are going to Carolina Beach check to see if Surfside has rooms.100% satisfied.

i like that every thing is in walking distance of everything it is a great location especially since a lot people like to drink a little they do not have to drive which is a lot saver for others and themselves i think that is the number one thing that a lot of people like about your motel. i did not find anything that i disliked about the stay except i will not go back with who i went with. every time i go to carolina beach i stay at surfside and i have actually cancelled going to carolina beach because yall were full and i did not like the rudness of the other places when i called. the first time i every stayed with yall on saturday morning my guest and i got up and cooked breakfast for us and the ladies in the office and your cleaning ladies and we just enjoyed that they took their job seriously but they also made us feel welcome and we joked and had a great time i do not go to carolina beach unless i can stay at your motel.

I disliked everything but the fact that the beach was right there. Rooms were uninspiring, dirty. Cigarette holes in the drab pink comforter. Bottle cap left in the sheets. Out-of-date, decrepit amenities. Just don't go here if it is the last place on earth to go...it is that simple.

I was looking for a hotel for the weekend that wasn't too expensive but still nice. The pictures I found on the internet were nothing like what I saw when I arrived. If it would have been cooler outside, I would have slept in my car. The hotel was dirty and smelled weird. There was a hole in the wall of the shower and there was also hair in it. The pillow case had hair on them the comforter had holes in it. Phone didn't work. It was obvious that it hadn't been cleaned well in a while because I found a evelope that had been mailed to someone who stayed in the room back in march which was four months ago. Gross. Not enough parking. The on half-way decent thing about the place was that it was close to the boat we were taking out to scuba dive and also not too far from other area attractions. I would not recommend this place for anyone, especially those with small children.
