3 reviews for Rock Crest Lodge, Custer
Very nice and would go back again.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/24/09
We stayed 4 nights during Sturgis Bike Week. A very nice place to come to after a day in Sturgis or just sightseeing. It was clean although the walk up the hill is a strain. It is with in walking distance to town and resturants. The staff was very freindly. They had a good selection for breakfast. The pool area and laundry area could have stayed open laterer and the mattress in our room (205) should be replaced, it was a little uncomfortable. The veiw is great and we saw deer by our cabin. I was overcharged but when I asked about it when I got home it was taken care of promptly. I would recommend this lodge and would stay there again. The room price for Sturgis week was more than a normal time but was still good compared to some of the other hotels I had checked.

Home-away-from-home.....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/01/06
We stumbled across Roct Crest Lodge totally by accident. We came out one year to climb Crazy Horse and had no idea of where to stay. Driving through town, we fell in love with the set back, natual beauty of Rock Crest. The prices were great - so here we parked! And loved every minute of it. (When we started staying here, deer and other wildlife could be seen on the hill in back - where the cottages now stand.) It's withing walking distance of shopping and places to eat. The staff has always been friendly, courteous and very thorough in their duties. If they remember you from a previous year, they treat you as a friend - not just a customer. We have stayed here a total of 13 years (or thereabout). It makes a very convenient "hub" for various day trips. There is a variety of things to do for all ages close by. In essence - Rock Crest Lodge is like home-away-from-home.

Rock Crest Lodge- EXCELLENT ACCOMODATIONS!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/25/04
My husband and I had originally reserved rooms in Custer, SD, at a different local motel than Rock Crest Lodge. We were planning a romantic and relaxing four day mini-vacation. We were horrified at the accomodations offered to us (dried dog urine stains on floor, flies in room) and so we packed up and left the very night we arrived. Driving around town, we looked hi and lo for a new place to stay.

At first, I didn't notice Rock Crest Lodge- it appeared to be a typical mom and pop establishment that had been nicely kept up. I did notice, however, the brand new cabins up on the hill behind the Lodge. We stopped in and inquired about the prices- $99 a night for a queen bed cabin. We eagerly reserved a cabin for three nights. The gentleman working in the office was so friendly and nice, and they allowed dogs!

I am so happy that we decided to leave the first establishment. Rock Crest Lodge was BEAUTIFUL. The first two nights we stayed in a Queen Bed cabin, and then the third night we stayed in the Honeymoon Cabin, which included a private hot tub on a small path leading from the cabin, out admist the pinetrees and rock formations. VERY romantic!

Both cabins were appointed with brand new and top quality ammenities. All cabins have at least a mini bar with a mini fridge and microwave, or a full kitchen. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were immaculate.

I cannot recommend this place enough. My husband and I are already planning our next stay!
