What Was Once "Shabby Chic" Is Now Shabby.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/22/09
This used to be a very nice place to stay about five years ago. Currently the name has changed of both motel and restaurant and everything is dirty and disorganized. The carpets are stained and the room smells of a combination of smoke and detergents. Potholes riddle the parking lot and could be repaired with a little gravel and minimal effort. The restaurant has lost its charm and looks like a Gypsy went wild with the paint. The menu and service is not what it used to be and is pathetic. My partner and I got an upset stomach after eating in the restaurant. Also, there is no longer a pool and it has been broken for a few years now we understand, so it doesn't look like it will be fixed anytime soon. We may give it a chance in a couple of years but we doubt it.

Mixed review
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/25/09
This is a lovely little place, but the lady in the office would not answer her phone, was put out when we went to the office (she was playing video games) by our request for an extra pillow, and in the morning the old used coffee bag was still in the coffee pot! Furthermore, there was no toilet paper. Pretty shabby service.

we love this motel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/4/09
it's old...rooms arranged around a crescent, nice sw decor, and yes, the ac is noisy, but adequate. We have always found the staff friendly. Blackjacks has been great---they had some liquor license trouble due to a change in NM law, but that is likely straightened out now. We arrange our annual trip south to stay here.

Avoid at all costs.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/27/08
This place is a complete dive and a rip off. The staff is rude, the room is dirty, the carpet is stained, the non-smoking room reeks of smoke. The bedspread is stained. Outside looks clean, but is deceptive. Avoid at all costs. I would not recomend to anyone. I is not worth the money at any rate.

This place is a dump!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/7/08
We stayed here back in the 80's. It was well kept and cared for...adorable. We recently stayed there again 6/08 and the place was nothing like it used to be. The pool was not open. We had much difficulty even finding the office. (They were relocating it and there were NO signs anywhere. The motel was a broken down dump. Not like the pictures at all. I would highly recommend staying somewhere else.

Back in '95.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/17/08
I stayed there in 1995 for 4 days. I was first put in a room that was freshly painted and not equipped with towels in the bathroom. The odor was very unpleasant! I went to the front desk to make an inquiry and the (apparent?) owner was there. He heard my tale and immediately relocated me to another room! He was very, very apologetic to the nines! My room was excellent and certainly it and the entire premises reflective of the Southwestern design and theme. The Continental Breakfast serve daily was excellent. I would & will stay there again. Nicely decorated but
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/17/06
The bathroom floor wasn't cleaned thoroughly nor was the carpet vacuumed thoroughly. The bathroom door knob did not work properly. The towels and sheets were very thin. The bed was comfortable and our dog was welcomed. The bathroom, linens & parking lot all need updating and repair.

Las Vegas' Best Kept Secret
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/3/04
This was a charming hotel with a world class restaurant....yes, in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Captures the beauty of the southwest with flowers, fountains, decor...Great stopping point for road trips along I25.

Pricing shown is untrue
By Debby, 7/29/04
I called to make a reservation at this motel, and they were going to charge me a room rate much higher than indicated on the internet here. Be sure you call about this, before you make a reservation here.
