Our family has been staying at the Round Up intermitantly for going on six months now. We could go somewhere else but why? The rooms are clean, the price is right and the service is wonderful. The staff is knowledgable about the area . We have tried other motels in the area...none seem to match the friendliness of this place. Ever in Cheyenne? Try here
We stayed at the Roundup because it was close by where we were going to be working. Little did we know that we were going to have the best friendliest service available. The price was right, the rooms were clean, and everything you needed was right there. We can't believe anyone would give this place a bad rating. There wasn't just us, we had 3 other couples that stayed at the Roundup and every one of them were completely satisfied. Love the layout of their rooms. We couldn't have asked for better service, or better accomodations. When we have a need to stay in Cheyenne again, we will stay at the Roundup again. They deserve our repeat business. We won't even bother to check out another place. They are the BEST!!
a. bedbugs are epidemic in the united states (google bedbugs. They come into our country in imported textiles.
b. The occurence of bedbugs is not a reflection of our standards of cleanliness. we wouldn't have them if someone didn't bring them into our rooms.
c. We have a contract service with orkin pest control; our rooms are treated as soon as we're aware of a problem. unfortunately, the smoke detectors don't go off when there's an occurence of bedbugs.
d. We understand the indignation of guests who encounter bedbugs; we feel violated too--our staff works hard to maintain a comfortable, clean environment for our guests.

GOOD LOCATION JUST OFF THE FREEWAY, NO DEPOSITS, NEIGHBORHOOD FELT SAFE. ROOMS OLDER BUT CLEAN. NO PETS, SO NO HAIR, ODORS, ETC.
NO SHARED DUCT WORK, SO DIDN'T SMELL SMOKE FROM OTHER ROOMS.
OFFICE WORKERS AND CLEANERS FRIENDLY, ACCOMODATING.
NOT MANY RESTAURANTS CLOSE BY, ICY PATCHES IN PARKING LOT.
The location was ok. The hotel was across the street from a western dance saloon which was convenient for dancing... However the music was so loud you couldnt' sleep till 2 when the band stopped. They had music inside the building and outside in the back of the area and it was soo soo loud. It sounded like we were still in the bar when we were in our room trying to sleep. The price was really high also for the condition of the place. It is very old.
My boyfriend and I recently stayed here, mainly because most hotels were booked in the area and we were tired. The place was dirty and we could tell that they had rouches or bugs right away. There were stickly traps around the room. We decided to stay anyways because we needed to get some rest. After three hours of torture... And I mean torture, were were laying on the bed and could literaly feel things crawling on our bodies, we finally decided to just leave. Later to find out that the creatures that were crawlingon our bodies were not just part of our imagination; They were lovely Bed Bugs!!! Were are still worried that they might be in our luggage. This place is not worth the trouble!
If you want bed bugs, this is the place to stay. Avoid like the plague. We recently stayed and left after 3 hours due itching. Later to find out, we had been attacked by bed bugs, we found them in our dog among other places. This place is a not fit even for animals!
I'm actually incredibly surprised by the harsh comments below. They are currently under new management and the owners are beyond friendly with an impeccable commitment to customer service. From musicians I've spoken with, they continually return year after year to Round-Up Motel--obviously indicating most people come away with a pleasant experience.
This is a great steal for its value, the location is perfect [right off the highway and across the street from grocery stores], and the cleanliness of the rooms is one of the best I've encountered while on the road.
I would return in a heartbeat only to drop a hello to the kind owner!
This hotel was a joke from the start. Shower didn't work right, microwave was full of food particles, they wouldn't clean the rooms for the musicians, floor was so uneven it was like a funhouse at the carnival.....and just who in the hell do they think they are treating musicians like 2nd class citizens? I'd give it a negative rating if possible!
