Prairie House Motel, Spring Green

beautifull landscaping, clean rooms, very pleasant staff, usually the owners are on site. large pool and hot tub, bonfire at night. hot breakfast in the a.m. this is the best place to stay in my book. I will keep coming back.

We stayed in a smoking room and it was horrible. There were stains on the carpet; it seemed like the room had not been cleaned.

The stay was excellent. Very friendly staff, welling to help anytime even when office is closed. Nice and clean rooms. I would highly recommend this place.

I just called them and the rooms start at $67, not $37 like it is listed here. Seemed friendly, but at that price I will stay elsewhere.

Our room was awful!! We walked into the room and were hit in the face with a horrible musty smell as if the room had not been used in ages. We had horrible allergies the entire night. We are sure that our allergies and the smell were due to the fact that the curtains and carpet were so incredibly old. The very dated room consisted of a bed with a rock hard cheap mattress, stains on the quilt, plastic curtains with a window that did not open, a broken lamp, and a very small TV that seemed over 15 years old. The continental breakfast was pathetic....pre-packaged danishes and juice or coffee...only one per person. The entire outside of the Motel was landscaped with evergreen shrubs which stank also! We liked nothing about this motel. Major updating needed everywhere!!!

The hotel was clean - that is a big deal to me! The rooms were a generous size. The lady at the front desk was very friendly. The decor was a bit dated, and not necessarily really "Prairie" style as I had expected. But, doesn't matter, because as I said it was a comfortable, clean place to stay. It's convenient to the town of Spring Green and some very nice scenic roads. The "continental breakfast" of pre-packaged donuts and juiceboxes was nothing much but better than nothing. The hot tub and sauna were wonderful after a long day of riding motorcycles.

We just returned from a visit to Spring Green and a stay at the Prairie House Motel. We were very happy with the room because it was very clean and comfortable. Considering the prices charged at other Motels it was a surprising bargain. The people in charge were very accomodating, pleasant and helpful. The only small complaint we had was because of the heat source which had a constant fan blowing into the room. We will recommend this motel to anyone we know who is planning on visiting Spring Green.

Staff friendly and helpful.We stayed in the "hotel" part, there appears to be an older "motel" part in the front part of the building.The part we stayed in appeared to be recently updated, nothing fancy but very clean, very large rooms. We were traveling with another couple and their room was exactly like ours. I think a very good value for this area, a lot of other areas I may expect more for the price. Our rooms each had two double beds and the price per room was 69 + tax which came to about $80 total, and they honored an AARP discount for our companions so their room total was less than $70 tax included. Cheap mattresses but fairly comfortable, "Satellite TV" was eleven channels,local broadcast channels plus only about three actual cable channels(TBS, HBO and CNN) we could find. Bathroom very clean, no mildew, great fluffy towels, shampoo/shower gel dispenser in shower. Nice large common room with a microwave and popcorn vending machine, several tables with seating for about 30 people, large windows and a few plants at one end was the "atrium". A pingpong table(free) a pool table(1.00 per game)two arcade video games (.25 per game)Smoking allowed, game area not as clean as rest of area, separate adjoined room with sauna, hot tub and exercise room just big enough for a couple of treadmills and another exercise machine, maybe was a bike. Continental breakfast of Coffee, indiviually packaged assorted flavors of danish and Hi-C juiceboxes was furnished (limit of one danish and juicebox per person)Right on the main rd, easy to find, about 10-15 minutes straight up the road from House on the Rock surrounded by several gas station/convenience stores & several restaurants(menus for area restaurants were available in lobby) and just outside of Spring Green.

I have been staying here since the motel opened more than 20 years ago. It is the best bargain in the Spring Green area. Always clean and pleasant with excellent prices.
