The Stamford Motel has been in the same family for 3 generations now, and has recently gone under extensive renovations. The rooms have been refurbished from the inside out, all new furnishings and fixtures, the bathrooms as well. The building received a new roof and siding, all new windows and doors. The grounds have undergone an amazing transformation as well as the owners are avid gardeners/groundskeepers. The annuals and perennials are to die for, the lawns and pool are very well kept and are ideal for outdoor enjoyment. The views are outstanding with a majestic Mt. Equinox taking a commanding presence down the valley from the grounds. The hotel is set back from rt 7 so the traffic isnt a bother. The rates are very affordable compared with the rest of the town. The owners go to great lengths to accomodate the guests as well as they can, they realize the importance of having ones stay be memorable. All in all well worth it, and worth going back to.

We were hesitant to stay at the Stamford Motel based on Yahoo reviews but we did some research and found outstanding reviews on tripadvisor. com so we decided to give it a try. The room was nice, neat and clean and the hosts were very patient with us and accomodating. We will be back this summer to check out the gardens. We paid $70/night for a single queen we thought that was a great price. It was an easy trip to Bromley and town was 2 minutes away. They have great views of the mountains.

Not pleasant

My biggest problem with the motel was the unfriendly service. Other problems included: broken screens and thus bugs, dirty carpet, no soap, shampoo & conditioner were never replaced. The location was personally convenient, nice to avoid town traffic. The gardens were also very pretty.

Ain't what it was when parents owned/operated it!

Sorry Stamford, but when your parents owned/operated it, the place was really super clean and reliable. You cut down too many trees, which gave ambience to the place ... gave us phone number to call you when we arrived [as you would be at your restaurant in town] and were not very hospitable. Rates were raised at least 25% over what previously was a bargain motel and NOTHING was added for the extra costs. After staying w/Gerelicks for well over 10 seasons involving 2 or 3 per year, we were very disappointed. Perhaps you can provide service in the fashion of your father-in-law. Again, sorry for being negative ... but others on the street give better value.

We can't wait to stay somewhere else!

Well, we stayed there thinking it was a nice joint after looking at their website. Wow, weren't we deceived. While most of the place was reasonably clean, the carpet was filthy. The bathtub could be replaced too, so not top marks for cleanliness. The rooms need some sound barriers or something since we woke up to a wonderful drunken couple having a late-night extramarital tryst next to us... really classy! I spent close to $100 for one night there, which was insane, not a good value. The guy who checked us in didn't seem very interested in being polite, so I can't give top marks for service. Oh yeah, the restaurant menu featured on their website is NOT attached to the motel... it's located in the center of town, not on the outskirts like this motel. So you're looking to drive to go out for dinner. Not excellent location.
