South Wind Motor Inn, Kure Beach

great location, convent to places to eat, quite. I requested a non smoking room. the room reeked of smoke when we entered so I asked to see other rooms availible. only one other and it had a moldy smell worse than the smoke. they sprayed the room and put an inonizer machine in the room for our entire 4 day stay. Made it ok but when we got home we had to wash all our belongings and air out our luggage. staff was nice but room was not clean had to get housecleaning to clean the tub before we would it.

I am not a not a Hilton or Sandals type of girl. I love it when a place can take me back to my childhood, so this is my idea of paradise! South Winds is a quaint little Vintage beach motel with a friendly staff and clean rooms! Our housekeeper Ashley was a keeper...I wish my housekeeper cleaned like that! I had none of the issues some of the other patrons had and think that they might have been a little too stuck up to enjoy the character of South Winds!

hotel room was dirty.... pool was filthy - stayed at kure for years and if this is the best they can offer we will look elsewhere

Have been going there for many years and will continue. The rooms could use a little more updating, bathroom needs alot of work. Price might be getting on the high side but overall it is a good place to stay.

Failed to provide rooms reserved - tried to fit us in with rooms not comparable. Refrigerator in Room 400 was 68 deg. and we lost about $200 in food. Management refused to reimburse any amount. Management uncooperative in any way - actually told us to leave after they charged our credit card for the week. Room 401 had been on fire around electrical outlet - wall was wet with leaking water. Lights in building flickered constantly. Motel needs to be condemned. New management does not have a clue on how to operate a motel and provide customer satisfaction. We have been staying there since 1969 and did not expect the Hilton or even Motel 6, but this place should be torn down. Love Kure Beach but motel owners (South Wind, Admirals Quarters and Sand Dunes) need to get more in tune with their customers. If they can't handle it, then get rid of them.

South Wind has the very best location. It is located next to the pier and the best restaurants. I have been going to South wind for 12 yrs and have always had great service. Will be returning in July and Oct. Thanks so very much!!!!!

was there in MAY for 3 days & coming back in SEPT. for 4 could live there in a heartbeat .the people are great service was excellent location is the best what i really like is not having to watch out for animal waste everywhere. its not the animals fault its their "parents". i really am looking forward to returning. love being able to lay in bed & watch the sunrise or walk in the surf at sunset.its a very low price for such a wonderful experience ! poobarez,ckb w.v.

I won't be bringing my family back to South Wind Motor Inn because: After coming there for over 35 years with my family. They won't let anyone bring pets. You know that when the kids grow up a lot of us get a pet. Well as far as I am concerned a good pet is almost the same as your child and not near as messy. I'm sorry you won"t change your mind. It is your loss. The Sechlers

Good location, but rooms are in need of updates and prices are just to high.
