Monroe Mi Red Roof Inn, Monroe

We recently stayed at this Best Western and as far as hotels go I thought it rated great! We have stayed in other hotels around the Country that we paid double the price for and they were absolutely no different. The room was clean, sheets were clean and lots of clean towels. We too were traveling with a dog and we always appreciate very much places that will allow her, since she is part of our family. Our experience with this hotel was by far better then most places we have stayed and what made this experience even better for us then most hotels was the fact that the staff and manager were extremely hospitable. We had car trouble and the owner was very quick to help us out and found a garage to help us. The guys from the garage fixed our car and did not even over charge for working overtime to help us out. We expected to be fleeced since we were just traveling through the area. The manager, Mr Jabboori of Best Western even followed up by stopping by our room to make sure everything was fixed and that we were able to get back on the road in the morning. What more could you possibility ask of a hotel manager. I have to say without a doubt, when we are traveling through there again we would most definetly stay in Monroe Best Western, no question. The box spring looked as if a crime had been committed on it, there was a gap in the door jam which allowed bugs to fly in, burn holes in the sheets, it was so bad we asked to change rooms. The second room was not much better, I didn't even want to stay there, but being a holiday weekend and the fact we were traveling with a dog we didn't have much of a choice. I walked around the room bare foot for only a few minutes and the bottoms of my feet were black and sticky, not my idea of Prestige!
