Luxury price for a non-luxury hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/31/06
This hotel pretends to be a luxury hotel when it is not. My non-smoking room smelled like smoke (most likely bad ventilation), service is mostly indifferent, the restaurant is overpriced and poorly staffed, the valet/bell staff (same person) didn't wear a uniform or id. Found gummy residue on un-used supposedly clean bath towel just as I was about to use it. The bed was very comfortable but bring earplugs because the Long Island Railroad runs right by the hotel all day and night and the windows don't seem to be soundproofed very well. But, if you need to be near the train it's not a bad place to stay. Room was large and minibar was well stocked (though typically pricey). No utensils in kitchenette area though.
