Chart House Suites, Clearwater Beach

We would not recommend this hotel to anyone our stay there was absolutely horrible. There is no desk clerk on duty after 8:00 pm. We arrived late therefore we had to get our key out of a lockbox. The room was disgustingly dirty. A roach greeted us in the bathroom. The sheets looked like they had not been changed. But I have to say, we had a great view of the marina. When I went to complain to the front desk clerk the next morning I was told because we booked through Orbitz at a special rate I shouldn’t expect too much. The hotel would not book the nice rooms for this discounted rate. I asked if we could check out, but was told that they could not give us a refund. The desk clerk offered us another room. We looked at two and took the slightly cleaner one. When we returned after a day on the beach, the room felt like 90 degrees. The air conditioner was broke--it only blew hot air. Not even the off switch worked. Once again we could not reach anybody. They did not honor their satisfaction guarantee but we were able to check out the next morning after talking to Orbitz.
