Have stayed here 7 years in a row now
By TerryB, 8/23/09
I think the title explains it all. I keep coming back year after year. I found this place by accident looking for a room for the NHRA Drag Races. The first time I stayed there..I fell in love. I have been there through 2 owners and I must admit, Mardo the owner of the past few years has turned this into an incredible destination for me. The upgrades he has done are incredible! It's not a typical corporate type motel..it's more like a family atmosphere with a staff that will assist you in anyway possible. Every year I'm there for the races, I see a lot of the same people staying there...it's like "old home weekend" catching up with old friends race weekend. This year I had some friends who attended the races come to the hotel after the races and they said they WILL be staying here next year . The location is excellent for events at Infineon Raceway and for wine tasting tours. I truly believe this is one of the best kept secrets in Sonoma... Try them out...you will not be disappointed.

Best Trip Ever
By Sárka, 10/30/08
If you're looking for the ultimate Sonoma experience of good wine, good humor and big human heart, this hotel is exactly what you're looking for. It is very comfortable, cozy and with beautiful art work everywhere. It feels like you arrived at a place you never want to leave again. It feels like home. It has a beautiful garden, swimming pool and beautiful dining area. It is not fancy and intimidating. Its style is very down to earth with a touch of human heart. It is conveniently located close to several wineries and not too far of a drive to downtown square in Sonoma. We were on a bicycle trip with a friend of mine and ended up in this hotel by a mere coincidence. After our adventures of flat tires, broken pumps, hitchhiking and full hotels, we were greeted with a great hospitality, sense of humor, big smile and a good heart of the hotel owner. The experience we had in this hotel was definitely the most amazing one from the whole trip (second are the downhill rides on California hills). Next time I'm in Sonoma, I'm definitely going back to Vineyard Inn, and would recommend it to anyone who is tired of commercial, cold hotels and appreciates the human touch. Our Sonoma experience would have not been the same. Thank you for everything.

not what I expected
When I first look at this hotel online the pictures of it were so nice and it looked like a place I wanted to stay. But apon arrival, a different picture was set.My mom and I walked into this tiny room that had a 15inch Tv and recieved few channels. Then one of the pillows had what appeard to be a blood stain on it which really turned my stomach. Also the sheets had dirty spots on them. The bathroom was very small and not functional at all.The noise from the street was heard in the room even with the windows open. I would not go back to this hotel and it was not worth the money.

Would be nicer without the traffic
By Harriet, 8/17/06
The place was a basic motel located at the intersection of two busy roads in Sonoma. Traffic noise continued late into the night during both nights we stayed at the Vineyard Inn Hotel. Our room and bath were small but adequate. The towels were pretty thin and the room was poorly lit. On the positive side, it was kept very clean and the staff was pleasant. There was a nice continental breakfast in the morning.

We won't be back.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/2/06
You overcharge and underserve. We come for the races and are gone before 8:00 AM. No coffee, no breakfast, uncomfortable beds and hidden, unidentifiable costs. No cot was provided and no miscellaneous services were provided. For coffee and edibles, we went across the street to the gas station in the early hours. We were not back until late and your office was dark and locked. We were overcharged by $80. and will remove it from our visa. You don't answer your phones.

mmmm not too sure!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/13/05
This in really a very quaint little bed and breakfast. We have stayed here 3 years in a row. This last experience was not the best. First of all we found that haveing a very young girl (who was all to phone happy) to take care of the inn during the breakfast hour is a huge mistake. She was not capeable to say the least. There were several hotel patrons there with no coffee, breakfast foods or much of anything for that matter. And this happened on BOTH days we were there. We had to go get her several times to fill things. What happpened to Barbara?? secondly we stayed and PAID a nice sum for a "spa room". The "spa tub" was very large and if you are going to have that you have to beable to fill it. The water pressure is way to low, not hot enough and frankly didn't even come close to being enjoyable. So for about $500.00 for 2 nights we found this was hardly worth the dollar. We were disapointed this time and probably will not return. We do realize that this is Napa valley and the prices are comparable, but the service was substandard and the room alone not worth the price we paid. However, they have a great robe you can buy for $75.00 and it was wonderful. Ihave wished that I bought it. Doreen Thornberry, Lake Havasu City, Az
