7 Mile Beach Resort, Grand Cayman

The resort was a little run down. I guess the hurrican took its toll on it. The advertisement for our time share read that the pool bar had been being repaired but was finished in June of 2008. When we arrived in August it was no where near done. It was closed and destroyed! The resort gave no apology for the false advertising. The resort cleans your room one day a week. You get fresh towels (bath and pool) once a week!??? You can do laundry for $5 a load or get fresh towels for $5 a day. Not much of a choice there. The island was beautiful and the snorkeling was wonderful. If you plan on dinning out bring plenty of money. US dollar is worth eighty cents there.

The room was very clean and nicely furnished with an outdoor patio facing the pool. Great location and nice staff. The hotel is conveniently located just a few steps from the beach, however, this particularly beach spot has very rocky water. To get away from this, I had to walk down the beach about 5 minutes to get to a portion that was all powdery sand and beautiful clear water (it was well worth it). Because I was no longer on the hotel's portion of the beach, I had to rent a lounge chair ($5 for the day) at The Reef Grill or the Beach Club or simply find a great spot and lie directly on the beach. Still yet, I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again.

What a great family to stay. There have always been plenty of activities for my children and the staff is almost like family. They have ice cream sundaes, T-shirt painting and much more. I would recommend 7 Mile Beach resort in a heart beat...I can't wait to go back, even though it's been 3 years, we will see you all in July.....MK
