Excellent hotel, can't wait to return.
By the_patient_inside, 10/2/08
This hotel is in the perfect location and is a great value. The rooms are large by most European standards and I would recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting Amsterdam.

Amsterdam family vacation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/11/07
We traveled with another family for our son's graduation present. We found the hotel to be very comfortable, friendly, save and the location was great. The location was convenient to museums, bus, trains, resturants, etc. The food is expensive at the hotel but there are cafe's around the corner which were good. We purchased the I-Amsterdam PassBook approx. $100.00+ pp which was worth every penny (free admission into most of the museums, Casino, rest. coupons, free unlimited bus, train and subway for 7 days), Red Light District Tour and others. Some of the museums have student discounts also. We let our 18 yrs boys go out on the town 1 night and my 22 yr old daughter felt save shopping and running around close to the hotel. We also did (2)day trips to Belgium (great experience)and to Holland countryside (Bruggs, Rotterdam, The Hague and more). They picked us up and dropped us off at the hotel. We had to pay for Internet access after 1 free day. Overall I would go back and stay at the same hotel.

Amsterdam
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/10/07
Great location, the hotel looked like a uni hall of residence. Very clean room, the rooms are a little tired looking and no mini bar in room 110 anyway. Lost of nice places around the hotel to eat and 10 mintues walk to city center, very nice friendly staff, a nice hotel to stay.

We'll stay in this hotel every time we go to Amsterdam!
By ajt575s, 1/12/06
This hotel was excellent, probably the best hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff was excellent, the rooms were clean, the breakfast was fantastic, and the location can't be beat. Anne Frank's house, Madame Tussaud's and the Red Light District are only minutes from this hotel.

Great location Great place
By PETE PASCHAL, 10/3/05
I have stayed at this hotel three diffrent times each times was excelent. The hotel is located about four blocks from the city center. The rooms are always clean and the staff helpful. They offer breakfast in the morning but I suggest walking to the pastry shop at the bottom corner of the hotel. It's wonderful and cheap. If your A-Dam to partake in smokey treat, there are several coffee shops and smart shops with in yards of the hotel. Furthermore, there are great restraunts, bars and shopping right next to the hotel. I would stay at the NH City Center any day of the week.

Can't wait to take my husband there
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/24/05
I went over with a colleague from work for 2 nights. On arrival we got a bit lost but then found it ok. We arrived around 2pm so put our luggage in a holding room where they give you a ticket for each item and then had a walk around until check in time at 3pm. We asked for a twin room with a canal view. The room was small but fine as we were only there 2 nights. The 2 beds were together which were a little too close. The reception staff were always friendly and courteous and the sweets in the glass jar on reception were very nice. We found the local bars and restaurants very good. The food was great at Luxembourg (turn right out of entrance) and there was a band on. For our other meals we ate either in town or in Leidseplein. After a canal tour we walked back to the hotel from Centraal Station and found a Red Light Area at the bottom of Spuistraat which was a bit of a surprise as we expected them all to be in the one area. When we checked out at 11am they let us use the holding room for our luggage so we didn't have to carry it around all day. Very nice hotel, great location (safe enough for 2 girls to walk to at night), would definately go to this hotel again.

Have visited ten times!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/3/05
Don't particularly like the decor. Very dutch in style but very brown. Bar service excellent, when open. Food good value. Problems with late check in particularly after travelling overnight. 3pm even though rooms are ready. Spuistraat an ideal centre, close to tram stops, shopping, flower market and short walk to most popular tourist attractions. Cafes and restaurants plentiful in the area.
