wouldn't recommend it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/29/09
The staff were friendly. The room was dreadful! The room was in bad condition. There were cobwebs on the drapery rods and the sprinkler head. The drapes were torn. There were dirty fingerprints around the light switches. The bathroom had what seemed to be an inch of dirt around the top of the tub and the top of the door. We pulled back the bedding to make sure nothing was crawling around in the bed. We did not try the breakfast because we felt that if the room was that dirty, what did the kitchen look like?! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and I certainly would never stay there again.

It was ok better than Super 8
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/21/07
Our camper lines froze and it was six in morning I'll called to see if they had a room available and if when I would have to check out if I got it then. The front desk help was very nice. I got in as soon as I got down there and didn't have to leave till the next day at check out. As far as the smell everyone is talking about in there reviews. I did not smell anything funny. I think they are smelling the town itself. They have a sewer problem or something. This is town is not luxurious thats for sure and neither are the hotels here but I rate this one higher than the others in this town.

Disappointment in usual quality
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/15/06
We stayed one night, Sept. 14, 2006..after calling ahead to make a reservation. We stay often at Comfort Inns because of their good value. In spite of the general uncleanliness of the room, we decided to stay anyway since it had been a very long day of driving and it is in a rather remote area. We found upon check-out, we had been charged more than the agreed on room rental and they seemed to be unable or unwilling to correct the error. After much hassle, they said they had it corrected. In fact, we found when we received our credit card bill, we were charged an ADDITIONAL $75.00 for the night's lodging. It has now been 2 months that we have been trying to get the mistake corrected...to no avail. Now, they refuse to return our phone calls. Do NOT stay at this motel....sleep in your car instead. It would be less trouble and aggravation and not a whole lot more uncomfortable.

Not really a vacation destination but. . .
By Robert Whitaker, 9/22/05
I've stayed here twice. In June and Sept of 2005. This place does indeed have an odd and unpleasant smell. The rooms were clean enough though and the continental breakfast is not too bad. The first time I stayed they put us on the bottom floor in a room with no locking window. I had them move us to an upper floor. The cover was missing off the heater/AC unit. The second time I stayed there was no phone in the room. When I inquired about it they said that the phone line in that room did not work. When I tried to make a call from the lobby phone I was told that it did not work either. Any incoming or outgoing calls needed to be made from the counter in the lobby. This was quite inconvenient. And then there is the odd smell - somewhere between canned green beans and cooked pasta but more chemical and rather unpleasant. The smell was distinct and unique and I have no idea what causes it. Why did I stay here twice? Well. . . I knew what to expect the second time. It's on the outside edge of town so one does not have to crawl at 25mph to the freeway while under ever-present surveillance from the Sheriff's deputies. My kids like the pool. The spa was nice and the pool area was never crowded. Besides the only thing to fairly compare it to are the other motels in Battle Mountain. The employees were polite and helpful. The biggest selling point for me was the wireless internet access which I used extensively. It is near the best grocery store in town which is actually quite nice. Next door is a service station and a pizza restaurant.

Terrible smell
By Chong, 6/30/05
I had to stay at this place for a week…..no room was available in Battle Mountain at the time. Because of bad smell (Chemical, Pet,??) I tried number of different rooms. Every room was filthy and stinks. The only reason to stay there if you have a pet.

C. Lang

5/21/04. We had reserved rooms and requested non-smoking rooms and only one room did not reak of cigarette smoke. Smoking was allowed on the other end of the hallway!!! As if the smoke would stay down there. It was quiet, rooms were ok for cleanliness. The facility is in need of a make-over.
