Great value, professional, Clean
By ,
I found the staff to me very professional & the room / lobby clean. The location is a urban but worked well for my business travel. They even opened the breakfast early (5:30 vs 6:00 am)due to my required early departure. I will stay there any time I'm in the area. Many families & business people were there. Lobby might be a bit crowded if you get there late for breakfast. Breakfast was basic cereal, muffins, toast, juice, coffee, but fresh & well stocked. My room was quiet.

GREAT HOTEL!
By ,
the halls smelt just fine. :) The beds are comfortable and the service was great. The Lady working in the morning was always bright and cheery and the man working in the afternoon was very helpful with directions. i also liked this hotel cause its very close to sherway gardens mall and an outlet mall. it is fairly close to subway too. Right across the street is a subway, a great pizza place, and a fantastic takeout pita place(their chicken ceasar pitas are to die for). great location, close enough to highway but far enough to not hear any noise and close to airport. the free parking was great. and so was the internet. breakfasts are great too! and there is a convenient ice machine in the lobby for people who bring coolers. and theres a tim hortons not even a block away! the cleaning people were nice and friendly too. I am a teen and I thought that this was a great hotel. :) p.s: the tony romas restaurent near there rules!!!

bad hotel
By ,
Middle of nowhere. It is 45 mins. away from downtown where all the tourist attractions are. $45 to take a taxi from this hotel to downtown, staff isn't too friendly. Location was very inconvenient. Not to mention there is no elevator. Two thumbs down. Be forewarned

Never go there, or they will swindle you
By ,
Price announced: 79.20 CAD plus taxes Real price: 137.65 (humidity smell included) It seems clear there is a planned technique to swindle costumers. On May 11, 2007, in Toronto Pearson Airport, I saw an announcement offering a room for 79.20 Canadian dollars in Travelodge Toronto Airport hotel. I used the special direct telephone (only 3 digits) to speak to the hotel. Telephone receptionist confirmed that the price was 79.20 CAD plus taxes for a room for two adults with private bathroom and double bed. When we arrived to the hotel, I told the receptionist to speak slowly because of my bad understanding of English. She told us a different price, I told her what I found at the airport and what they told when I called. Then she spoke quickly and told a price that I thought was 79.20 as I said. We wanted to pay cash immediately for avoiding retard in the morning, because of our early fly the day after, but she did not accept in spite of our insistence. Moreover, my wife had to sign a small paper and a blank credit card voucher (I did not have credit card). Our first impression arriving to the room was a strong smell of locked damp. We did not return to the desk because we were tired and had an early fly, we had many luggages, and my wife accepts everything, so I did not want to dispute with her and with the hotel. Humidity smell seems to be common there because I found reference of it on the internet after that. On TV, open signal is bad, an invitation to get pay-per view TV, but offered programs never appeared on the screen, so we could not see anyone, by the way avoiding paying more money. In the morning, we found a bill for 119 CAD, plus marketing fee, plus safe warrantee, plus taxes, for a total 137.65 CAD, without breakfast. I protested, they did not accept any claim, I called the police, but finally they showed me the paper my wife signed where it said 119 CAD. Unfortunately, she did not read this paper and I did not realize she did not read. Moreover, they refused to return us the signed voucher of our credit card; I still fear they make us pay any other invented fee.

it was quite a surprise to me
By ,
i had read the reviews on the hotel before i went and i took for granted that there was some clarity and truth to them until i encountered going there for myself. I had major problems with the Shuttle so i would suggest that you dont ask for the shuttle to pick you up from the airport because i was lied to and gauranteed that the shuttle would be there at a certain time and then when i called back 30 minutes later she lied and became argumentative and said that she never told me that (( an employee there at the hotel )) an Indian Woman from Delhi, very unfriendly over the phone, and my wife and i were told to be at a certain place to be picked up and the shuttle claimed to have came there and never did so we took a taxi, it was $10.00 more but atleast no deliberations and no waiting. When i got there she was not at the front desk but another gentleman was, she moved away from the desk and a caucasian gentleman was there at the desk and he checked me into a room on the 1st floor and THE SMELL WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORST Walking down the hallway,MY WIFE AND I HAD TO HOLD OUR BREATH ! and it was very BAD because he said himself that it did not matter what floor that he checked me and my wife onto quite facetiously but he really did us a bad service there. THE house Keeping ladies did not speak and were not that polite, so i guess that is it, my room was clean and luckily it did not stank of odors and mildew and such as others did. The Lady that checked me out was really polite and smiled, THE ONLY ONE, as i checked out on Sunday Morning
