23 reviews for Days Inn Pensacola Beachfront, Pensacola Beach
I was impressed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/09/09
I reserved the room thru priceline, when I was assigned this hotel and read the reviews I was reluctant about the room and even brought clorox wipes and bleach and prepared for the worst, but I was pleasantly suprised when I arrived and the rooms where clean, they had nice pillows and the towels look like they where just purchased, I received great customer service from the front desk, the only problem we had was the shower has a slow drain, but as soon as we reported it, within 15 minutes the maintenance man was there and fixed it. I would definetley stay there again

Great Vacation
By Susie Q, 08/19/09
Perfect location, honest staff (my mother lost her $$ ($1000) in the bathroom, a staff person found it, kept it at the front desk until we inquired about it several hours later). In the heart of the beach, close too everything!. Rooms were clean & very comfortable. Would recommend to anyone traveling to Pensacola Beach. Also great cont.breakfast.

Price Switch
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/12/09
It looked like Days Inn Pensacola Beach was one of the cheapest. The internet showed 109.95 per night. It wouldn’t take her reservation so she called. The lady at Days Inn told her the room would be 115.95 per night for the three days. My wife said that would be OK and made the reservation. She called back three days before we were to arrive to confirm our reservation. What we didn’t do, and now know better is to get something in writing. We had a conformation number but nothing in writing from the hotel on the price. When we started to check in the sign in card showed 159.95 a night. I drew this to my wife’s attention My wife made reservation three weeks in advance. She started by looking on the internet.. She informed the clerk the price was wrong. She said that is what the rooms go for and she would have never said the 115.95. The manager who was also behind the counter said they didn’t ever have any rooms that cheap and that their must have been a misunderstanding. He marked the room to 139.95 and told us they would never get someone in at one price and then charge another. We had just driven 10 hours to begin our vacation. We were tired and didn’t have anywhere else to go so we checked in. The room smelled, was dirty. We didn’t have a wash cloth until the second night we were there. The bathroom was moldy and musky smelling and the smoke detector beeped about every 15 minutes. The next day after we checked in I went on the internet to the Days Inn website to check rates. http://www.daysinn.com/DaysInn/control/Booking/property_info?propertyId=21564&cid=carat_search-Days_Inn Checking for three weeks from date I got a quote for 109. a night for the same rooms we were in. This is amazing because they “NEVER” (according to the manager) have rooms this cheap. I refuse to let all this completely ruin our vacation so we enjoyed the beach and stayed out of the room as much as possible. The beach was beautiful and the climate was great. What I would like to know is their anything Days Inn Corp can do to stop these deceptive practices? The thing is we would most likely have stayed there with the 159.95 quote. But I hate to be promised something and then not do what they say. To me it looks like false advertisement, deceptive practices and fraud.

Good stay
By PATTIE P, 08/08/09
We were allowed to check in at 12:30 (at no extra charge). We had a room facing the beach, it was clean and everyone there was nice to us. We didn't spend much time in the room because of para sailing, shopping and dophin watching. Compared to the rates of all the other places, it wasn't bad and we would stay again. DON'T ORDER PIZZA FROM PIZZA HUT.....IT WAS THE WORST WE HAVE EVER HAD.

"Recommending for our Wedding Guest!"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/05/09
Loved the location! Breakfast was good! We had to get extra towels, but we had a room full of women! The staff was very friendly, they even recommeded where to eat, when we called and ask for advice! When calling and getting a quote for a block of rooms they were very helpful and honest about what they could offer!

Highly Do Not Recommend
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/16/09
My family and I stayed there last year had a wonderful experience! We decided to return this year expecting a great time. Location is under new management which is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Staff and managment was rude from the moment we arrived! They did not have our rooms available that we requested six months in advance. We did confirm reservations four times in between the time we reserved until the time we left. After some debate and getting our room situation squared away, the room smelled like mold and bathroom ceiling was falling apart. You could actually see the mold growing around the doors. Room service did not do their job properly. I had poop on the side of my toilet which they did not clean up and did not change the linens on my bed. I brought this to the managers attention and it took them six hours to bring me my linens and then expected me to put them on myself. I also had four children with me, two seventeen year old girls that had been hanging out with some of the cleaning staff at eleven o'clock at night in front of my hotel room drinking beer which was provided by the staff while my husband and I went to tour the boardwalk. I did bring this to the mangers attention and no action was taking to take care of this situation! If you are staying for one night this may be a good place to stay, otherwise I would definitely recoomend another place to stay especially if you have children. I am currently trying to resolve some of these issues and more with the corporate office, who has been vey friendly and cooperative. The decision to under go new mangament was a poor decision and this facility definitely needs to get their act together!

Would not recommend

When checking in the front desk clerk apologized "We wished we had a better room for you", it certainly described what was about to happen for the next 3 nights. When we first walked in, we noticed some sugar ants crawling on the A/C unit, and my wife noticed some pubic hairs left over in the shower from the last people who stayed. Things gradually went downhill as one of the lights in the room did not work, and after the 2nd day, the wireless internet went down, and was gone for the rest of our stay. My wife called the front desk and was transferred to the manager about the lack of wireless internet, but her complaint was blown off by the management, which was unbeleiveable. There were small holes in the curtain, rusted hinges on all doors and even rusted screws as well, which tells me that some parts of the room existed before Hurricane Ivan in 2004 and was not replaced. One of my wife's friends that called us at the hotel described the person working for the hotel as sarcastic sounding on the phone when he answered, as if he didn't take his job too seriously. Apparently customer service doesn't matter at this hotel. I will never stay there again.

Great trip
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/12/09
Liked: Room right on beach, good size room, friendly staff, good price, breakfast (cereal, bagels, toast, cinnamon bun things, coffee) If you are looking for something fancy then this is not the place for you but if you want something reasonably priced, right on the beach, clean, and a good breakfast then stay here. I have been to this area many times and have always stayed at a private condo but this time I could not do that, so this hotel was in my price range. It is also within walking distance of a shops, food, etc.

1st Time to Pensacola Beach Florida
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/23/09
This was my first trip to Pensacola Beach Florida. I was traveling for a wedding. This Hotel was Great for the price and location to food and entertainment. It is walking distance to everything and the Gulf Beach front is out your door. The staff was excellent. Once I got there I had a need for a second room on Saturday during the middle of Spring Break and they got it for me with no problem. The were such nice people. It was a little loud at night with the Spring Breakers, but that was to be expected. I would stay here anytime I return to this area. It was well worth the money and the locations was great. If you want to stay at a hotel on the Gulf beach with friendly employee's and walking distance to some great food, Flounders, then this is the place for you for the price. I give them all high grades. The view from the room was worth it all !!!
