Best Western of Long Beach, Long Beach

The hotel was fine; clean, quiet, comfortable. Just fine for business travel where all you want to do at the end of the day is get a hot bath and cruise the tube. The area however, left a lot to be desired in that it was dangerous for a woman out walking alone. Fortunately I had my car and could drive where I wanted to go. I did venture out walking before dark and there is a very good mexican restaurant/bakery on the corner. Reasonably priced and delicious. I wouldn't go much futher than the corner, however.

In an unsafe neighborhood!!! Manager was very rude & refused to listen to our complaints but instead called the police, which was very over the top! Would not stay there again!!!!!

Dirty and smelly with the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept on in a less-than-desirable part of town. The front desk only laughed when I complained. I tried to save my company a few $$ but now I wish I had treated myself a little better.

We stayed for 4 days, got a corporate rate because I work sometimes in LA.Did not leave because we were too tired and needed rest. Tiped the maid very well. After going to the pool and using our 2 towels, I went to the front desk and asked for 2 more towels in exchange. I was interagated as to why I needed 2 more towels. I had to ask the front desk cleark for a key to the pool, and there I was dressed with wet hair being questioned as if it was a police matter! How rude! After that Could not get any clean towels for 3 days. The hotel only gives you 1 skimpy towel per person! The $200 deposit is put on your card and if you complain, they will charge you $200 for smoking in the room. So make sure you don't complain about how bad their service is because the manager will inform you of this upon checkout. The continental breakfast would have been nice but the service person who might not speak English, doesn't pay any attention to you asking her a question anyway. I sat and waited for the waffle machine to become free for 45 minutes, people came and left because the lids were closed and they did not want to wait for the waffle machines to be freed up. Then after sitting there for 45 minutes, I asked for a 3rd time when the waffles would be done so I could have one. She walked over and opened them up, they were empty all that time. I was furious! What a waste of my time! How stupid can someone be? I guess I am! Sitting there watching the 2 waffle machines, waiting for them to ring the bell, signifying they are done! I asked the service person, she nodded her head in a yes manner both times. The manager didn't like me complaining about that either! The pool was dirty, I don't care that much, but working men there standing around watching me is not okay, hotel employees I guess they have never seen a women with blond hair over 50 years old in a bathing suit! Awfully creepy! This hotel is not in a good area, I tried to walk across the street to get something to drink and was a quick friend of a street drunk! Go to a cheaper hotel and you can get better service. Never again will I ever go to any Best Western. NEVER

This hotel is in a questionable area. Right behind the hotel, it looked like a run-down trailer park. I was waiting to hear gun shots at any moment. Also, you had to park in a dimly-lit parking garage located under the hotel. The room smelled bad. I didn't like that fact that the hotel put a hold on my credit card and didn't tell me before hand. I had never experienced that with any other hotel before. Would not choose this hotel again if I'm in the Long Beach area.

Liked the location and how clean it was. But what made me dislike my trip was that they charged me a deposit and didnt let me know about till i got there he told me it was an inhouse policy they didnt need to let me know about it ...i wouldnt have minded if they would let me know in advance ..so i was on my vacation with a limited spending limit..and they charged almost 500 dollars to my account for my room and deposit. Which he was also VERY VERY RUDE about he didnt help the situation, there was also other customers in front of me they didnt inform which were very angry also. We couldnt cancel the reservation because it was already charged when i got there. I would NEVER go there again. I would rather find somewhere where they have great staff.

For the price it was a great place to stay. Look forward to going back!

We had a good stay but wish the pool was bigger, warmer, and cleaner.

Good location if you are trying to save money and still take advantage of Long Beach. Light Rail is outside the door and will take you Pine Street and the Pier
