Tangiers Resort Motel, Wildwood Crest

Very well maintained family type of motel. Rooms were kept clean and the staff was very nice. It is an older motel so you're not going to get all the creature comforts of a Hilton but that wasn't what we were looking for. Short walking distance from the beach and the boardwalk. Has WIFI, gas bbq's and nice table with umbrellas. Very relaxing stay.

Owners & employees are very nice.Rooms are clean. Nice small cafe right on property.

We went in July, 08. We had a pleasant stay. Staff was courteous. No complaints here. I can't see why or understand the negative comments, that is why I posted my review. Peace

after reading these reviews, i do believe a lot of people exaggerated it a tad bit. yes, the rooms are small, but they are clean, its a great place to stay if your planning on spending most of your time out exploring the amazing wildwood crest. The bathroom was small, but theres also mirrors in the actual room that you may use. The Cafe was amazing, it's very old fashion/classy and it was a great place to eat. Although the Cafe might have been a little over priced, the food was still excellent. The owners were very good to myself & family, and if we had any problems, they were available for maintnance. I'd highly suggest!

IF YOU WANT HOT WATER GO SOME PLACE ELSE A BATHROOM WHERE YOU WON'T NEED TO STAND IN TUB TO CHANGE A BED LARGER THAN A SINGLE A ROOM THAT SLEEP SIX WITH 2 SMALL BEDS I THINK YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN

I stayed at the the Tangiers in Oct 2005 and had a great expierence. There was a problem with the lighting and we were upgraded to a larger room at no extra cost. The pool is large and clean. Didn't get the chance to get down in 06 but am going to try for 07.

This was the most disgusting place I have ever stayed. The room was dumpy and dirty. The air conditioning did not work, and the worst of all you were only allowed 1 towel a day. They did not provide hand towels. If you wanted more towels they would charge you 2.50 for each item. The cafe is also is not what they said. Over priced and food was lousy. The website is nothing like the motel. The help was not friendly. Don't be fooled. I'm sure there are better places to stay.

We have been staying at Tangiers for about 8 years now and it has been good until 2004 when new owners took over. In 2005 we stayed here only because the other hotel we were looking at was booked; luckily the staff has gotten their act together a bit. Location is OK; quiet but you need to scamper across a moderately busy street to get to the beach. Service was ok, housekeeping came at completely random times each day which was a bit annoying. The room was clean and smelled nice so no complaints there. The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioner worked well. TVs had controls although I could care less about that. Value is good for the area but was just a tad much for the motel. The pool is the best though, clean (except for one corner) and very large. It's a decent motel for people that are not going to spend the entire day at the motel.

The photos on the website are not as big as the actual room. When I entered the room for the first time there was a "basement" and "mildew" smell. The carpet appeared to be "wet." The chairs had "old" stains in them, I didn't sleep under the blankets so I can't say much about that. The bathrooms are very small BUT they are accomodating (big mirror, ledge for cosmetics). The shower was hot one minute and then would be cold. There were two cars of people who were staying in the room (4 people). We were only allowed to get a parking pass for one car. They constantly said that the rooms were booked and there was "no" parking avaiable BUT I don't understanding there being a "vacancy" sign if they're booked.
