Luxor Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas

My husband and I just returned from a 5 day stay at the Luxor and we couldn' t have been happier. I read the reviews prior to our arrival and, as such, had a little trepidation about some of the concerns that have been posted. We found the staff to be pleasant and accomodating, the room was clean, spacious and had all of the amenities that we required (we stayed in the Tower), including coffee, a refrigerator and a jacuzzi tub with a separate shower stall. For the price, the room was amazing. The entertainment on site was fantastic. We ate at three of the onsite restaurants and had a great meal each and every time. The Spa was very nice and the staff at the Spa went out of their way to ensure a relaxing experience. In summary, we can't wait to go back!

Really liked the hotel and staff casino was nice won some, service to and from hotel was cheap 15.00 and to airport, Didnt like room in pyramid nasty..... but staff quickly changed to tower. Restaurants all were good did different one each day.Wished I had more time, will return on next visit.

Worst Rooms, Worst service, Hidden Fees (resort fee??? you've got to be kidding me) Horrible atmosphere (dark and damp) and to top it off- THEFT!!! Yes, theft by their housekeeping staff!!! We had 160.00 stolen from our rooms over the 3 day period we stayed there. Not one person has gotten back to us (after many promises that they would follow up) Maybe we should have not stayed there after staying at the Palms (fantastic hotel!) but unfortunately the palms was sold out so we had to slum it at the Luxor...never, ever again...avoid this place if you can!

Rooms are full of bed bugs. We where moved twice and both rooms had bed bug. Bedroom found five bugs in the bed and one in the bathroom. Some rooms are outdated. BED BUGS BED BUGS BED BUGS DON'T STAY THERE PLEASE.

A friend and I went for a girls weekend in Vegas. We found a great inclusive package at the Luxor that included tickets to Criss Angel's Believe, the Titanic exhibit and to The Bodies. We also got passes to the More Buffet for all of our meals with this package. Right away when we checked in the trouble started. We were informed THEN that they were going to charge a $100 per day 'incidental' fee in case we were to charge anything to our room. They don't just hold your card number in case, they actually take the money and then refund it to you if you don't spend it, which can take 3-5 days after you leave the Luxor for it show back up in your account. We also learned the "VIP" means S.O.L. The tickets to Criss Angel get you into the last three rows of the theater, nice! You can almost see the stage through all the stage smoke in there. Luckily we were upgraded by a fluke because the show didn't sell out and they wanted to fill the seats closer to the stage, so they moved us 'nosebleed section' people closer. The buffet was mediocre, nothing to write home about for sure. There is no natural light in the Luxor except in your room, and it is very hard to navigate your way around. The room was average, about what you'd get at any Comfort Inn, except we had a slanted window. There aren't many useable outlets in the room and the ones there were didn't work well or hold the plug in. Lighting in the bathroom was horrible. Elevators were slow and often stopped at every floor whether someone was there waiting or not. Would not stay there again, other hotels we walked through seemed much better and more user friendly, especially the Excalibur and Mandalay Bay.

I had a horrific experience during a 5 day stay at this hotel. I dealt with managers on my fourth day. After the fact, I wrote a 5 page, single spaced letter to the Luxor, MGM Corporation, and the Better Business Bureau. Only the Luxor responded to the Better Business Bureau - not me, stating in so many words sorry about your bad luck! Check their BBB rating, it is an "F".

You can imagine apprehensive I was about staying at Luxor while on my first trip to Las Vegas. Based on the reviews on this site, I was expecting a dump. But when I got there I was pleasantly surprised. Check-in was a breeze, even though I had to pay the famous "resort fees" associated with MGM properties. I booked a Pyramid room and it wasn't bad. Two queen beds with a large shower and clean bathroom. Fresh towels and toiletries every morning (or should I say, afternoon). Once you got the lay of the hotel, getting around in the casino or the Atrium level is easy enough. The thing to remember about Luxor is that it isn't the Bellagio. When you pay the kind of rates that Luxor charges, don't expect the Bellagio either. It is what it is, a room inside of a giant pyramid. If you want a nicer room, spend more money and book a room somewhere else. The pool was nice, plenty of misters all around and the water was a nice temperature to take the sting out of August Vegas sun. Yes, the location is pretty bad if you want to cruise the Strip but all in all, for the price you end up paying it's a good place to stay. I would recommend it for "Vegas Virgins" as it's a good "starting point" price-wise.

Do not stay in the Praymid section.. The room smelled like piss.. I ask to to be moved.. they put me in the Tower section of Luxor, Much better.

I would stay again the next time we go. I read all the bad but I think the people that write the bad must stay in a diff. place. We had a room in the west tower. 18X24 with a king bed. The room was CLEAN and all things worked.Chenk in was fast and the people were helpfull.
