608 reviews for Luxor Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas
Let me set the record straight...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/10/10
Ok after reading some of these reviews (after we booked the Luxor) I was really worried. We have stayed at Caesar's Palace and Venetian on prior trips to Vegas. This trip was a spur of the moment thing so we wanted to save some money. The Luxor had a great all inclusive package going on! Yes the hotel is older and not as "nice" as say Caesar's, etc. but our room was clean...the food was good and check in was a breeze for us. Everyone was really friendly the whole time we were there. We stayed in the basic Pyramid room and it was fine. We had a comfortable bed and a tv with cable. I mean, it's not like you spend a whole lot of time there anyway! I just want people to know that if high class is what you want, then stay elsewhere, but if you want a nice clean hotel with pretty scenery and good restaurants, etc. for a good price then try Luxor!

A good value
By BoilerFan, 02/03/10
While the Luxor is not as nice as the upper tier hotels like the Bellagio, it is a great value for the money. I stayed 3 nights late January for around $70 per night which included a paper, 2 bottles of water and access to the fitness facility. The room was fine but unremarkable. It was a little dingy but generally clean and the bathroom had a big soaking tub and separate shower. It had a small TV but who goes to LV to watch reruns of Roseanne? I really liked the casino. It was clean and the cocktail service was good. It's also really cool being inside the pryamid with the soaring ceilings. The poker room had affordable Texas Holdem Tournaments ($35 in the morning). There was also a large variety of Slots and table games. There are many choices for food and drink in the hotel. If you just want a quick bite, there is a food court at the atrium level. The buffet was very passable for breakfast and dinner. There are also several choices for nice dining and drinks. T&T (Tacos and Tequila) on the Atrium level is a great place for texMex and Margerhitas. I also like the accessability to other casinos. You can take a quick walk (indoors) to Mandalay Bay on one side and Excalibur on the other. Being indoors in well lit walkways feels a lot safer if you feel like venturing out late at night when you have a pocket full of cash and a half of a buzz going. You can also take walkways (outdoor) to quickly access New York New York and MGM Grand. Overall, I enjoyed my time at the Luxor. The room was fine and I really like the casino and proximity to other locations. For the money it is a really good value and I'll definitely stay there again when I am in a budget mindset.

Will not be back...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/15/10
Our room was horribly dirty. The bathroom door and wall had, what looked like, blood stains splattered all over it and they didn't clean it until our last day there. The carpet was so filthy it amazed me!! My cell phone accessories were stolen. I loved our vacation as long as we were not in the room.

Nice Get a way
By Theone2002, 01/06/10
I loved the overall convenience of the Luxor hotel and casino, as in many hotels and casinos in Vegas the lobby is the nucleus; bars, clubs, shows, restaurants, and exhibits you name it, it’s there! You do not have to leave the hotel until it’s time to check out. I did not feel sun light for a 24 hour period b/c everything I needed was right there. My only gripe was the line to check in was ridiculously long. This was our first time in Vegas, so we weren’t aware of “premium packages” , “the Baller check in” systems or whatever it’s called, so we waited in line for 1 Hour, granted the staff apologized and was very pleasant , so that made up for it

Cool Hotel / Cool Choppers - Better than it was!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/30/09
The Luxor has changed. It's cool now! Before it was all that Egypt stuff, now it's trendy, nice and more adult oriented... very cool choppers all around and nice gift shops etc...Las Vegas Choppers has a dealership in Luxor where you can rent choppers and take adventure tours and all that fun stuff. Recommend!

BEWARE OF LUXOR!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/30/09
This hotel was a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. I unfortuntely got my black fine cashmere scarf stolen from my room. I remember leaving it there but when I got back and I wanted to wear it, it was no where to be found. I looked everywhere. We immediately filed a report because they did come in to clean the room that day. They told us to call a number. We called and they didnt want to help or resovle the sitauation. Now where I want to get with this is to BE CAREFUL, & STAY AWAY!!! This hotel LUXOR wont take any responsiblity for any lost items from your room. The maids can basically steal anything they want from your room and get away with it. I guarantee you this wont be the last time a situation like mine happens especially when the hotel supports that type of behavior from their employees. Don't be surprised if you go to this hotel and end up missing something from your room. It could end up being more valuable then a scarf. Other than that there are just too many hotels on the strip and especially in VEGAS to stay at LUXOR again with there bad service. NEVER AGAIN LUXOR!!!!

Pass on this hotel
By Lee G, 12/22/09
They changed the Luxor. It used to have rides and family entertainment, but they went to adult theme now. We had breakfast - pancakes and french toast, and an extra milk shake.... $35 - what a deal! They charged a resort fee - suppose to have internet.... we called 4 times, put on long hold each time, and they dispatched 4 people to fix it. No one ever showed up, and never worked. I love paying for stuff and not getting it! The walk from the tower rooms to the casino is an adventure, and valet was full... so it was quicker to park at the Excaliber than to park at the Luxor. The room looks nice, but 3 towels for 4 guests, and beds were uncomfortable. We went for a small snack, and a Nathan's hotdog is $5, a 1/2 a subway sandwich is $7. Obviously this hotel is about profit. They even have people trying to sell you for $125 you can get 3 days stay for free, and they will reimburse you the $125. The hotel would need to pay me to stay there again. Unfortunately, like so many of the strip hotels, they know customer satisfaction means nothing, because there will always be another sucker to follow us.

I would recommend it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/15/09
Stayed at the Luxor and didn't go out to any other casino. The room was great, plenty of awesome food, and just a good all around casino. The greatest food is on the second floor. I ate at the Burger Bar and it was one the best burgers I have eaten. Right now door is a pizza place that you can buy by the slice - it was amazing. The only dislike I had about the place was the bar. You could get free beer if you are playing the poker games. However, the bartender told me at two different bars that management wants you to play $3.00 bucks a play to get beer comped. I just decided to pay the $6.00 bucks a beer rather than $3.00 bucks a spin. Overall, I would definately stay at the Luxor again.

worst place ever
By T, 12/14/09
BE PREPARED to stand in a queue like cattle just to check in. Oh . . . is there a line to check in? They finally notice when the line spills over to block a slot machine (hey, that’s costing us money). You want a nice restaurant? Try this one . . . oh no, the ads that look like a gentleman’s night club are misleading, it’s not that kind of place . . . (but you can get a nice view of the pubic hair sticking out of the girl’s bikini shorts who work at this place). Pay three prices for a taco that it is unfit to eat. Be careful as you navigate the “lobby” . . . it’s actually just one giant sleazy bar full of cigarette smoke and people who have had too much to drink. And don’t ask anyone for any help unless you’re willing to flash money in their face first. And if you want a print out of the extra charges they will be adding to your credit card when you check out (and believe me there will be plenty of these), you need to call in advance down to the desk . . . . because there is never anyone available to help you down there. This place is a cesspool. Save yourselves. Go to Cancun. Better food, better service, better air quality, better class of people (I mean the local peasants), and if your only interest is gambling, then God help you anyway.
