Shippen Way Inn, Philadelphia

My wife and I have stayed here numerous times since 1998. We've stayed in every room except the one w/ the fireplace. Every time has been great; I personally enjoy it due to it's charm and historic significance.

This family-owned B and B was small but charming in a perfect location. The brother sister team who greeted us was friendly, personable and accomodating. We were welcomed by fresh cookies, wine and cheese and tole to help ourselves any time to the amenities of the cozy kitchen. Our room was pure colonial charm with a poster bed, fireplace and log walls. Nice linens and toiletries in the room.

Been there last May, am coming back this summer. Really charming place, comfortable bed in spacious room with huge bed and clean bathroom plus all the historic places around. Service was OK Reccommend!

We have visited at a number of inns in the area, but Shippen Way has to be one of the most charming. We stayed in the Stencil Room which had a working fireplace and shaker style four poster bed. From the low exposed beam ceiling to the tiny curved stairway that led to our cozy room, the Shippen Way gave us colonial style and romance at its best. The innkeepers are friendly and helpful. The garden, secluded by ivy covered brick walls is the perfect outdoor retreat for a morning cup of coffee or late afternoon glass of wine. We enjoyed our stay and plan on returning soon.
